TACOMA -- Aaliyah Alexander had 19 points and nine rebounds to lead Todd Beamer to a 57-41 win over Bellarmine Prep on Wednesday morning in the opening round of the WIAA Class 4A girls basketball state tournament.

Sharay Trotter added 13 points for Beamer and Halo Parks had 10. Julia Bordeaux led Bellarmine with 16 points and Callie Stevens added 12.

Beamer moves on to Thursday's quarterfinals where they will face No. 1 seed Woodinville at 10:30 a.m.
