Each week throughout the season, SBLive is taking a look at the top high school football performers across the Lone Star State. We gathered the best of the best from UIL state championship week in Arlington, separated offense from defense, and now it’s your turn to cast your vote on a winner from championship week.

TEXAS OFFENSIVE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL NOMINEES

DJ Bailey, sr., DeSoto

Bailey, a Sam Houston State commit, finished 16 of 22 passing for 281 yards and four touchdowns as DeSoto cruised to a 74-14 win over Summer Creek.

Kaleb Bailey, jr., North Shore

Bailey completed 19 of 25 passes for 239 yards and three touchdowns as North Shore fell to Duncanville, 49-33. The junior also led the team in rushing with 17 carries for 126 yards.

Terry Bussey, sr., Timpson

Bussey closed his decorated prep career in style, running for 155 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 12 of 15 passes for 311 yards and four scores in a 49-7 rout of Tolar. The five-star Texas A&M commit set new Class 2A championship game records for longest TD run (93 yards) and longest TD pass (97 yards).

Joseph Dodds, sr., Tidehaven

Dodds, a Baylor commit, carried it 22 times for 166 yards and a touchdown in a 30-14 loss to Gunter.

Caden Durham, sr., Duncanville

Durham, a four-star LSU commit, ran for 231 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries as Duncanville took down North Shore.

Kyler Fossett, jr., Oglesby

Fossett had 25 carries for 245 yards and four touchdowns as Oglesby fell to Benjamin in six-man action, 82-34

Will Henderson, sr., Gilmer

Henderson rushed for 227 yards and a touchdown while catching six passes for 53 yards as Gilmer held on to defeat Bellville, 28-26.

Adam Hill, sr., Albany

Hill ran for 132 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 24 carries in a 28-10 win over Mart. The Texas Tech commit also caught a TD.

Chauncey Hogg, sr., Malakoff

Hogg caught seven passes for 108 yards and two touchdowns — Malakoff’s only scores of the day — in a 14-7 win over Franklin.

Sam Hranicky, sr., Bellville

In the loss to Gilmer, Hranicky turned 13 carries into 157 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Gio Oceguera, sr., Port Neches-Groves

Oceguera set a new Class 5A championship game record with four made field goals in a 20-17 comeback win over South Oak Cliff.

Walker Overman, sr., Gunter

Overman ran for 172 yards and a touchdown while throwing for 149 yards and another score in the victory over Tidehaven.

Hawk Patrick-Daniels, sr., Aledo

Patrick-Daniels had 16 carries for 186 yards and three touchdowns as Aledo trounced Smithson Valley, 51-8, for its second straight state title.

Grayson Rigdon, jr., Benjamin

Rigdon accounted for nine total touchdowns in the six-man victory over Oglesby. The junior quarterback went 7 of 7 passing for 116 yards and three scores while running for 263 yards and six TDs on 15 carries.
