Summer Creek upsets Atascocita: Live score, game updates from Texas high school football district tilt (11/3/2023)
The final week of the Texas high school football regular season is here.
Summer Creek held on to upset No. 8 Atascocita on Friday night.
Atascocita (8-2, 5-2) drops its second in a row after a 61-35 loss to No. 2 North Shore in Week 11. The Eagles are led by running back duo of 4-star Tory Blaylock and Cardae Mack.
Both teams will see their respective seasons go on. The Week 11 showdown was a battle for the second spot in the Region III, District 21-6A standings. The top four teams in each district advance.

Summer Creek (8-1, 5-1) is led by junior 6-foot-4 edge rusher Chad Woodfork, an uncommitted four-star prospect, linebacker Xavier Atkins (3-star, LSU) and running back Lloyd Avant (3-star, Tulsa).

FOURTH QUARTER

-- Touchdown, Avant, who is putting on the clinic. Bulldogs go for two and convert a pass in the left corner of the endzone, appearing to begin to pull away. (Summer Creek, 45-28 | late)
-- Summer Creek RB Lloyd Avant explodes through an open hole, has a tackler bounce off of him, then jets in untouched for an 18-yard touchdown. That run pushed Avant to the 200-yard mark on the night. Officially? 25 carries, 200 yards, two TDs. Not bad. (Summer Creek, 37-28 | 6:26)
-- What. A. First. Down. Bulldogs senior tight end Kordell Rodgers elevates and makes a nine-yard catch, then holds onto the ball after a defender swept his legs out from under him to secure the first down.
-- Interception, Zion Brown. Atascocita QB throws his third of the night and Summer Creek gets the ball back up two.
