There was even more drama on Friday night as district championship games played out across Texas. Here are 10 games you shouldn't have missed:

FRIDAY

DJ LAGWAY SHINES AS WILLIS OUTLASTS OAK RIDGE

Five-star Florida commit DJ Lagway accounted for five touchdowns to lead Willis to a 49-35 win over Conroe Oak Ridge to win the District 14-6A, Region II title on Friday and finish the season undefeated.

And he managed to troll Georgia Bulldogs fans in the process.

Fellow five-star Justin Williams, a Georgia-committed Oak Ridge (7-3, 6-2) linebacker, accounted for a trio of sacks on Lagway in the first half, including two in a row.

WHITE BOOKS PLAYOFFS SPOT WITH FIELD GOAL IN 2OT

White's kicker sailed about a 42-yard kick over the crossbar and through the uprights, to give the Longhorns a 38-35 win over Birdville in double-overtime on Friday night.

White (5-4, 4-3) set up the winning field goal with an interception.

Birdville tied the game at 21-21 with a 23-yard touchdown strike with 2:57 left in the third quarter.

The win gives White the fourth place tiebreaker over Birdville in District 5-5A, Region II and punches the Longhorns a bi-district ticket at Lone Star next week.

WESLACO EDGES SAN BENITO IN 2OT DISTRICT TITLE THRILLER

Fireworks were on full display in South Texas.

Frankie Trevino caught a 25-yard touchdown pass from Andrew Supúlveda to give Weslaco (10-0, 5-0) a 27-21 win in double overtime to claim its first District 32-6A championship since 2015.

San Benito (9-1, 4-1) scored with 18 seconds left to force overtime, then forced double overtime by an across-the-field throw on fourth down.

Weslaco is No. 6 and San Benito is No. 5 in the SBLive South Texas power rankings.

NO. 23 TIMPSON HANDS GARRISON FIRST LOSS

No. 23 Timpson ran into fellow undefeated opponent Garrison for the District 11-2A, Region III championship game in front a raucous house and after trading blows, ran away in the end with a 35-36 win on Friday night in a small-town East Texas showdown.

Timpson QB Terry Bussey, the nation's No. 1 athlete in 2024, scored a nine-yard touchdown run with 7:46 left to go up two scores — a touchdown set up by a 51-yard touchdown connection between Bussey and Dacorian Johnson.

Timpson is seeking its first state title after a pair of trips the last two seasons ended in the semifinals. The win is Bears' fourth consecutive district title.

Bussey finished with 200 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

Timpson, SBLive's No. 23 ranked team in the state across all classifications, is the No. 1 team in Class 2A Division I, per the Dave Campbell's Associated Press poll. Garrison is No. 9.

RED OAK DOWNS MIDLOTHIAN FOR DISTRICT 4-5A, REGION I TITLE

Four-star athlete Bradyen Robinson recorded 65 total yards and a receiving touchdown in the win as the Hawks moved to 10-0 to close out the regular season District 4-5A, Region I championship.

BRIDGELAND TOPPLES DARLING CY SPRINGS FOR DISTRICT 16-6A CROWN

Bridgeland and Cy Springs traded early touchdowns, then the Bears erupted toward a lopsided District 16-6A title on Thursday.

Cy Springs falls short of a district title, but enters the postseason with notable momentum. It's the program's first time making the playoffs since 2003. Two years ago, the program went 1-9.

L.D. BELL TOPPLES TRINITY, ENDS 26-YEAR STREAK

Down goes the streak.

L.D. Bell upended Trinity 41-24 on Thursday night to stop a losing skid that dated back to 1997 and stretched back 25 games.

Senior quarterback Maddox Olatunde threw for two touchdowns and 150 yards, and junior wideout Delvechio Ellis turned four catches into 66 yards and a touchdown for the Blue Raiders.

"It's November 3, 2023," Bell coach Andrew Junior said in a post to Twitter/X on Friday. "It's not a dream, this did happen! No longer do our kids, students, and alumni have to listen to the noise! The BLUE WAVE is here and it's only going to get bigger!"

PANTHER CREEK BEATS CELINA ON FINAL PLAY

Frisco Panther Creek scored a go-ahead touchdown with seven seconds left to beat Celina 31-27 and win a district title on Thursday night.

Senior quarterback Braxton Roberts hit sophomore receiver Parker Ord for a 9-yard touchdown haul in the left corner of the end zone, with Ord hauling the ball despite contentious efforts from the Celina corner.

Panther Creek (9-1, 6-0) claims the Region II, District 6-4A title. Celina (9-1, 5-1) holds the second place district slot.
