Texas high school football Week 8 is officially in the books.

Each week throughout the season, SBLive is taking a look at the top high school football performers across the Lone Star State. We gathered the best of the best, separated offense from defense, and now it’s your turn to cast your vote on a winner.

Here are SBLive’s Texas Offensive Football Player of the Week nominees for October 12-14. Scroll down to read about this week’s list and cast your vote in the poll below. Voting remains open until Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. Central time.

TEXAS OFFENSIVE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL NOMINEES

Miles Coleman, sr., Vandegrift

Coleman, a three-star North Texas commit, returned a pair of punts for touchdowns and had 11 receptions for 119 yards and another score as Vandegrift took down Round Rock, 45-3.

Ife Durodoye, sr., Northwest

Durodoye ran for 234 yards and three touchdowns in a 37-27 win over The Colony.

Maguire Gasperson, so., Argyle

In his first varsity start, Gasperson threw for 314 yards and two touchdowns in a 41-34 shootout victory over Emerson.

Brenden George, sr., Sachse

George accounted for five touchdowns — four rushing, one passing — and 252 yards of total offense as Sachse blew by Garland, 57-24.

Alex Green, sr., Hutto

Green hauled in 16 passes for 310 yards and six touchdowns in a 52-31 win over Temple.

Isaac Harney, jr., Guyer

Harney threw for 310 yards and five touchdowns in a 56-28 victory over Braswell.

Tripp Holley, sr., Lake Highlands

Holley turned seven carries into 109 yards and a touchdown while throwing for 166 yards and another score — a 25-yard game-winner to Tripp Marshall in overtime — as Lake Highlands downed Richardson, 28-21.

DJ Lagway, sr., Willis

Lagway is having a senior season for the ages. The five-star Florida commit completed 26 of 29 passes for 545 yards and five touchdowns in a 63-9 rout of Caney Creek. Lagway has thrown for 2,837 yards and 41 touchdown passes in eight games while running for five more scores.

Juzstyce Lara, sr., Permian

Lara ran for 153 yards and three touchdowns as Permian stunned Midland Legacy, 32-31. Lara scored his final TD with 10 seconds remaining and the Panthers went for two with quarterback Jackob Garcia hitting Gage Murphy for the game-winner.

Cole Pryor, jr., Reagan

Pryor rumbled for 213 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-27 win over Johnson.

Keelon Russell, jr., Duncanville

Russell, a four-star SMU commit, completed 18 of 20 passes for 285 yards and five touchdowns as Duncanville shut out Mansfield, 51-0.

Ty’Vone Whitehead, sr., Columbus

Whitehead turned 25 carries into 313 yards and five touchdowns in a 52-24 victory over Hitchcock.
