Texas high school football schedule this week (9/22/2023)
The 2023 Texas high school football season continues this week with Week 5 getting underway on Thursday and continuing through Saturday.
The action gets started with more than 60 games on Thursday night, including two that feature a couple of teams in the Top 25 Texas high school football rankings.
After knocking off Illinois powerhouse East St. Louis last week, No. 7 Atascocita should be able to take a breather this week against winless Kingwood, while No. 16 South Oak Cliff will look to pick up its third win of the season in its league opener at home against Adamson.
As usual, Friday will be the biggest day of the week with 20 of the top teams in Texas playing that night.
No. 2 DeSoto and No. 4 Westlake will both put their undefeated records to the test on the road against fellow undefeated teams, as DeSoto (3-0) takes on Waxahachie (4-0), and Westlake (3-0) battles Lake Travis (4-0) in Austin.
Week 5 wraps up with more than 25 games on Saturday.
No. 21 Reagan will be the only ranked team in the state to play on Saturday when the Rattlers travel to San Antonio to face winless Marshall.
