DJ Lagway, Florida Gators QB commit, racks up 6 TDs

5-star Willis (Texas) arm throws for three, runs for three more in thrashing of Conroe

Willis (Texas) 5-star quarterback DJ Lagway had himself another night on Friday.

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound signal-caller scored six touchdowns — three in the air, three on the ground — in a 63-14 drubbing of Conroe in Week 4.

Lagway is the No. 27 rated prospect nationally, No. 4 quarterback and No. 7 player in Texas in the class of 2024.

Willis built a 28-0 halftime lead and unleashed 35 points in the third quarter.

He's looked every bit the part of one of the nation's best high school quarterbacks. Through his first three games of his senior season, he has thrown for 967 yards and 14 touchdowns on a 77.4 percent completion rate.

That includes a season opener where he threw seven first half touchdown passes. And an equally as impressive Week 3 against New Caney (Texas), where he went 25-for-32 for 339 yards and five touchdowns on a highlight-producing night (highlights here).

He committed to Florida last December.

As a junior, he recorded 2,081 yards and 24 touchdowns with three interceptions as a passer and added 517 yards and seven TDs as a rusher. Lagway is also a star baseball player for Willis.

Willis is 4-0 and 2-0 in District 13-6A play.
