Texas high school football schedule: Week 4 (9/14/23 - 9/16/23)
Week 4 of the Texas high school football schedule kicks off this week with a packed slate of big games across the state.
Two of the biggest games of the week feature matchups between teams ranked in the latest Top 25 Texas high school football rankings.
No. 12 Denton Guyer and No. 15 Prosper will meet in Prosper for their district opener.
Guyer rebounded from a narrow loss to No. 5 Aledo in Week 2 with a gutsy 28-20 road win over Lancaster last week, while Prosper dropped a 47-41 shootout to Rockwall for its first loss of the season.
It will be interesting to see if Guyer's strong defense is able to slow down a Prosper offense that tallied 273 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns a week ago.
The other Texas Top 25 showdown will see No. 16 South Oak Cliff facing off with No. 24 Parish Episcopal in Dallas.
South Oak Cliff is 1-2 to start the season, but both of the Bears' losses have come at the hands of the two best teams in the state, No. 1 Duncanville and No. 2 DeSoto.
Despite dropping two of their first three games, they still look like a legitimate threat to repeat as state champions in TX-5A this year.
Parish Episcopal picked up its first win of the year last week after an 0-2 start to begin the season, and now has a chance to improve its ranking with another tough road game on the road at South Oak Cliff.
