Week 2 of the Texas high school football season is in the books.

Each week throughout the season, SBLive is taking a look at the top high school football performers across the Lone Star State. We gathered the best of the best from Week 2, separated offense from defense and now it's your turn to cast your vote on a winner.

TEXAS OFFENSIVE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL NOMINEES

Ben Carter, sr., Liberty Hill

Carter turned 23 carries into 368 rushing yards and five touchdowns in an 82-80 victory over Hutto. It was the highest-scoring 11-man game in Texas since 2016. His teammate, Noah Long, rumbled for 311 yards on 17 carries and also scored five times.

Byron Eaton, sr., Lincoln

Eaton, a Grambling State commit, rushed for 235 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-19 win over Madison.

Danny Green Jr., sr., South Oak Cliff

Playing against his former school, Green Jr. carried it 29 times for 193 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-21 victory over Lancaster.

Trever Ham, sr., Melissa

Ham, a senior quarterback, piled up 390 yards and six touchdowns in a 63-33 victory over China Spring.

Will Hammond, sr., Hutto

Hammond completed 36 of 58 passes for 719 yards and scored 10 total touchdowns (four passing, six rushing) in the shootout loss to Liberty Hill. The four-star Texas Tech commit finished with 88 yards rushing.

Hauss Hejny, sr., Aledo

Hejny, a four-star TCU commit, completed 15 of 20 passes for 252 yards and a touchdown as Aledo defeated Denton Guyer, 48-45, on a last-second field goal. Hejny also ran for 135 yards on 12 carries.

Justin Howard, sr., Lamar

Howard needed just eight carries to rush for 196 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-14 victory over The Woodlands.

Chase Johnson, jr., Daingerfield

Johnson scored five total touchdowns — four passing, one rushing — in a 34-17 win against Tatum.

Kewan Lacy, sr., Lancaster

Lacy had a big day in the losing effort against South Oak Cliff, rushing for 208 yards and three touchdowns.

Cardae Mack, so., Atascocita

Mack had 14 carries for 167 yards and three touchdowns as Atascocita took down Katy, 42-34, for the first time in school history. After the game, Mack earned his second Division I offer from UTSA.

Maddox Maher, jr., Dripping Springs

Maher passed for 312 yards and four touchdowns and added another score on the ground in a 35-14 win over Wagner.

Elijah McCoy, jr., Midland

McCoy had 23 carries for 177 yards and three touchdowns in a 48-13 rout of Coronado.

Walker Overman, sr., Gunter

Overman passed for 312 yards and five touchdowns while running for 105 yards and three scores in a 64-24 victory over Walnut Grove.

Gavin Padron, sr., Big Spring

Padron threw for 412 yards and four touchdowns in a 32-21 win over Lubbock. His favorite target was Zeyire Franklin, who had five catches for 187 yards and two scores.

Charlie Peters, jr., Jesuit

Peters passed for 379 yards and six touchdowns in a 60-59 comeback victory over Rockwall. Jesuit trailed 45-29 in the third quarter.

Jett Surratt, so., Carthage

Surratt threw for 244 yards and five touchdowns — all in the first half — as Carthage cruised past Pittsburg, 42-7.

Harrison Williams, jr., Celina

Williams rumbled for 302 yards and three touchdowns in a 77-41 win over Bishop Lynch. His teammate, Logan Gutierrez, added 254 yards rushing and five scores.
