We are just past the mid-point part of the 2023 high school football season here in Tennessee and there’s no shortage of underclassmen quarterbacks performing at a high level.
It’s no surprise that sophomore signal callers are showing out in the Volunteer State as that’s been the case in the past many times over. This list of underclassmen features some of the top sophomore quarterbacks we’ve seen or have been on the rise in Tennessee. Take a look at our list and vote for who you feel has been the top performing sophomore high school quarterback in Tennessee.

Here are the nominations:
Jackson Stroup, Gallatin: The 6-foot-4, 220-pound quarterback has completed 150-of-240 passes for 2,291 yards and 25 touchdowns for the Green Wave.
Kelvin Perkins, Southwind: No sophomore has thrown for more touchdowns than Perkins this season. The signal caller has completed 93-of-150 passes for 1,923 yards, 35 touchdowns and just two interceptions.
Blaine Stansberry, Oak Ridge: Stansberry has thrown for a lot of yards and touchdowns this season for the Wildcats. The quarterback has completed 139-of-221 passes for 2,085 yards and 18 touchdowns.
Ben Hill, Adamsville: The 6-foot, 155-pound signal caller has been one of the better sophomores all season long. Bill has completed 119 passes for 1,978 yards and 23 touchdowns this fall campaign.
Maddox Franklin, Lincoln County: Franklin has lit up opposing secondaries all season long for the Falcons as the quarterback has completed 137-of-225 passes for 1,896 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Jared Curtis, Nashville Christian: There’s no denying the talent of Curtis for Nashville Christian this season. Curtis has completed 132-of-237 passes for 1,877 yards and 19 touchdowns to just seven interceptions.
Kaedyn Marable, Battle Ground Academy: One of the most efficient sophomore quarterbacks in Tennessee has been Marable for the Wildcats. Marable has completed 104-of-162 passes for 1,708 yards and 20 touchdowns to just six picks.
Cooper Campbell, Notre Dame: Campbell has had a nice season for the Fightinf Irish, throwing for 1,726 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Amari Lethgo, Halls: Another signal caller that’s been very efficient under center has been Lethgo. The quarterback has thrown for 1,538 yards, 19 touchdowns and a mere two interceptions.
Rhett Slagle, Elizabethton: Slagle has been slinging the rock well for the Fighting Cyclones this season. The sophomore has completed 92-of-136 passes for 1,410 yards and 18 touchdowns.
