We have 10 players nominated this week for SBLive’s South Carolina Boys Basketball Player of the Week from Feb. 26-March 9 and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, March 9 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced next week.


Bryce Ward

Here are this week's nominees:

Cam Scott, Lexington

Scott gave Lexington one final standout performance in a brilliant five-year career. The Texas signee scored 21 points and had 12 rebounds in the Wildcats’ 67-48 win over James F. Byrnes in the 5-A state championship game. The 6-foot-6 senior scored 12 of his points in the third quarter, helping his team take command of the game.

Jaleel McGee, Powdersville

McGee scored 18 points as the Patriots downed Darlington 53-47 for the 3-A state championship. The junior guard was 8-of-10 from the free throw line. He also had 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

Korie Corbett, Ridge View

Corbett scored 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting as the Blazers held off Riverside 58-52 to win the 3-A state championship.

Jaxon Prunty, Lexington

The 6-foot-6 senior guard led his team with 23 points in the state championship game. Prunty has offers from Appalachian State, Old Dominion, Western Carolina, Hampton and Chicago State.

Hayden Assemian, Powdersville

The 6-foot-8 South Carolina commit had 12 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocked shots for the Patriots.

Will Fowler, James F. Byrnes

Fowler, a 6-foot-2 senior guard, scored a game-high 26 points in the state championship game. He scored 20 of his team’s 22 points in the first half, which kept the game close until Lexington pulled away in the third quarter.

Braylhan Thomas, Gray Collegiate Academy

Thomas, a Georgia Southern signee, had a game-high 16 points as the War Eagles beat Oceanside Collegiate Academy 44-40 to win their second straight 2-A state championship.

Reid Hipp, Christ Church

The 6-foot-5 sophomore scored 11 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as Christ Church won the 1-A state championship with a 53-32 rout of Bethune-Bowman.

Keenan Dubose, Darlington

Dubose scored a game-high 27 points in the 3-A state championship game.
