We have seven athletes nominated this week for SBLive’s Upper State South Carolina Defensive Football Player of the Week from Nov. 16-17 and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, November 25 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced next week.

Here are this week’s nominations:

Jaden Booker, J.L. Mann

Booker had the game-sealing interception as the Patriots held off Hillcrest 21-13 in the 5-A state playoffs.

Lucas Salgado, St. Joseph’s Catholic

Salgado snagged an interception in the Knights’ 27-14 win over Southside Christian in the 1-A state playoffs.

Imari Boyd, Gaffney

Boyd had eight tackles and a sack in the Indians’ 35-10 loss to Dutch Fork in the 5-A state playoffs.

Trenton Galloway, Westside

Galloway had a crucial fumble recovery for the Rams in their 68-53 win over Midland Valley in the 4-A state playoffs.

Blake Croft, Gray Collegiate Academy

Croft returned an interception late in the game as the War Eagles turned back Strom Thurmond 35-28 in the 2-A state playoffs.

Dayne Botts, Abbeville

Botts hauled in a big interception in the closing moments as the defending state champions beat Silver Bluff 16-6 in the 2-A state playoffs.

Christian Henderson, Greenville

Anderson had the coverage on Northwestern’s failed two-point conversion pass as the Red Raiders held on for a 42-41 win in the 4-A state playoffs.
