So which one has been the best in 2023?

We give you a list of 11 signal callers to choose from as we take a deeper dive into which quarterbacks have had the best 2023 season in South Carolina High School Football.

This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are the nominations: 

Luke Gray, Pendleton: The 6-foot-1, 170-pound signal caller has amassed the most yards and touchdowns in South Carolina this season. Gray has completed 272-of-388 passes for 3,811 yards, 53 touchdowns and just four interceptions. 

Grayson White, Camden: White has put up some impressive numbers on an every week basis for the Bulldogs. The quarterback has completed 166-of-261 passes for 3,135 yards and 35 touchdowns. 

Cutter Woods, Westside: Not many quarterbacks have been as accurate as Woods has been this season, with the signal caller completing 71 percent of his passes. The Rams’ quarterback has completed 177-of-248 passes for 3,086 yards and 32 touchdowns. 

Jaden Cummings, Summerville: Cummings is averaging 260 yards passing per game for Summerville and his stats matchup with just about anyone. The Green Wave quarterback has completed 151-of-216 passes for 2,870 yards, 32 touchdowns and just a mere three interceptions. 

Ethan Anderson, J.L. Mann: The Patriots’ quarterback has had a very strong 2023 campaign, with Anderson throwing for 2,857 yards on 159-of-259 passes. Anderson has 37 touchdowns to just five interceptions. 

Finley Polk, Northwestern: The 6-foot-2, 185-pound junior quarterback has been extremely effective through 12 games. Polk has completed 178-of-259 passes for 2,624 yards, 34 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. 

Aaron Brand Jr., Irmo: Brand Jr. has kept good care of the football this season, only throwing one interception so far on 212 pass attempts. Brand Jr. has completed 154-of-212 passes for 2,624 yards, 42 touchdowns and just one interception. 

Ian Grissom, Lewisville: The Lions’ signal caller has put together a very good season as a junior. Grissom has completed 123-of-170 passes for 2,615 yards, 35 touchdowns and just four interceptions. 

Harold Gathers, Baptist Hill: Gathers really came on strong this season for the Bobcats. The Baptist Hill quarterback has completed 156-of-222 passes for 2,516 yards and 30 touchdowns. 

Quan Edmond, Storm Thurmond: Edmond is the only other quarterback on this list that’s only thrown one interception this season. The signal caller has completed 147-of-226 passes for 2,288 yards and 27 touchdowns. 

Tucker Hendrix, Christ Church Episcopal: Hendrix’s stats have been solid across the board this 2023 campaign. The quarterback has completed 106-of-162 passes for 2,147 yards and 33 touchdowns.
