Here are the candidates for SBLive’s South Carolina High School Athlete of the Week for Nov. 8-11 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Here are this week's nominees:

Deon Winsley, Dutch Fork, Football

Winsley returned a fumble 90 yards for a touchdown as the defending state champions edged T.L. Hanna 31-28 in the second round of the 5-A state playoffs.

Jake Liebert, Wando Boys Cross Country

Liebert capped his high school cross country career with his third SCHSL individual state championship. The University of Tennessee commit ran the 5,000-meter course at Newberry College in 15:19.79 to claim his third consecutive 5A crown.

Jayden Woods, Northwestern, Football

Woods had an interception return for a touchdown.

Alivia Cleveland, Fort Mill, Girls Cross Country

Cleveland, only a sophomore, won the SCHSL 5A individual cross country title with a time of 18:17.24, leading a pack of four teammates in the top 17 and helping Fort Hill unseat Lexington as the 5A team state champion.

Ethan Offing, Dutch Fork, Football

The Silver Foxes’ backup quarterback threw for 137 yards and a touchdown while also running for 123 yards and a touchdown as the defending state champions overcame T.L. Hanna 31-28 in the second round of the 5-A state playoffs.

Garrett Brown, South Pointe, Boys Cross Country

Bettering his 2022 time by more than two minutes, Brown won the SCHSL 4A boys individual cross country championship, running 15:50.6 at Newberry College.

Jha’Louis Hadden, Abbeville, Football

Hadden ran for three touchdowns as the defending state champions beat Newberry 41-13 in the second round of the state playoffs.

Kalab Sutton, Hillcrest, Football

Sutton threw for 266 yards and a touchdown as Hillcrest secured a 27-24 overtime win over James F. Byrnes in the second round of the 5-A state playoffs.

Grayson White, Camden, Football

The Bulldogs’ quarterback is also a linebacker on defense and he returned an interception for a touchdown as Camden beat Dillon 35-21 in the second round of the 3-A state playoffs.

Jordan Boyd, Silver Bluff, Football

How’s this for clutch? Boyd had the game-winning interception return for a touchdown as Silver Bluff beat Fairfield Central 22-21 in the second round of the state playoffs.

Landon Sharpe, White Knoll, Football

Sharpe threw five touchdown passes in the Timberwolves’ 50-7 rout of Fort Dorchester in the second round of the 5-A state playoffs.

DeShaun Washington, Brookland-Cayce, Football

Washington ran for 214 yards and 4 touchdowns as the Bearcats beat Philip Simmons 34-13 in the second round of the 3-A state playoffs.

Yannick Smith, Summerville, Football

The East Carolina commit caught two touchdowns and threw for another in the undefeated Green Wave’s 34-14 win over Berkeley in the second round of the 5-A state playoffs.
