We have seven athletes nominated this week for SBLive’s Lower State South Carolina Defensive Football Player of the Week from Nov. 9-10 and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

Here are this week’s nominations:

Anthony Williams, Bamberg-Ehrhardt

Williams had an interception as the Red Raiders beat East Clarendon 41-13 in the second round of the 1-A state playoffs.

Kaiden Aiken, Blackville-Hilda

Aiken returned an interception 34 yards for a touchdown in the Fighting Hawks’ 28-0 win over Wagener-Salley in the second round of the 1-A state playoffs.

Grayson White, Camden

The Bulldogs’ quarterback is also a linebacker on defense and he returned an interception for a touchdown as Camden beat Dillon 35-21 in the second round of the 3-A state playoffs.

Jordan Boyd, Silver Bluff

How’s this for clutch? Boyd had the game-winning interception return for a touchdown as Silver Bluff beat Fairfield Central 22-21 in the second round of the state playoffs.

Corey Williams, Keenan

Though Keenan lost to Strom Thurmond, Williams returned a fumble for a touchdown.

Ahsaad Calas, Calhoun County

Calas intercepted a pass to stop a drive, though the Saints fell 21-7 to Southside Christian in the second round of the 1-A state playoffs.

Charlie Perkins, Holly Hill Academy

Perkins had an overall solid defensive effort in the Raiders’ 57-28 win over Wardlaw Academy in the semifinals of the SCISA 8-man state playoffs.
