THIS WEEK’S SOUTH CAROLINA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Editor’s note: Our Athlete of the Week feature and corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. However, we do not allow votes that are generated by script, macro or other automated means. Athletes that receive votes by script, macro or other automated means will be disqualified.

Here are this week's nominees:

Olivia Bull, Carolina Forest, Girls Tennis

Bull swept to a 6-2, 6-2 win in No. 1 singles as the Panthers shutout Spartanburg 6-0 to win their second straight 5-A state championship.

Jon Hunt, Dutch Fork, Football

The Silver Foxes’ quarterback only needed one half to go 8-of-11 for 208 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 56-7 rout of Boiling Springs to open the 5-A state playoffs.

Will Wilson, Richland Northeast, Football

The North Carolina State quarterback commit put up some crazy numbers as the Cavaliers outscored Bluffton 88-54. Wilson rushed for 401 yards and 5 touchdowns. He also had 122 passing yards.

Tyler Jenkins, Dorman, Boys Volleyball

Jenkins turned in a solid overall effort, including a crucial ace in the second set as the Cavaliers beat Carolina Forest for the first boys 5-A state championship in South Carolina.

Sy’Ree Livingston, South Florence, Football

Livingston is tall for a running back at 6-foot-4. His game was tall, too, on Friday as he scored four touchdowns in a 42-0 rout of Lugoff-Elgin.

Carmello McDaniel, Hartsville, Football

McDaniel returned to the lineup after missing four games due to injury with a three-touchdown performance in Hartsville’s 70-27 rout of A.C. Flora. One of his touchdowns was an 88-yard jaunt.

Andrew Stevens, Byrnes, Football

Stevens had another standout performance as Byrnes throttled Dorman 44-17. The standout quarterback was 15-of-20 for 356 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also had a rushing touchdown.

Thomas Stanley, Hillcrest, Football

Stanley ran 39 times for a school single-game record 248 yards and scored three touchdowns in a 37-29 win over Nation Ford.

Lee Turnipseed, Daniel, Football

Turnipseed was 10-of-12 for 209 yards and a touchdown in a 49-2 rout of Blue Ridge. He also had a rushing touchdown.

Jadyn Andrews, Beaufort, Football

The senior tailback carried 22 times for 128 yards and 4 touchdowns as the Eagles came from behind to beat Loris 30-13. His touchdown runs were 1, 3, 4 and 7 yards.
