We have seven athletes nominated this week for SBLive’s Lower State South Carolina Offensive Football Player of the Week from Nov. 2-3 and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

Here are this week’s nominations:

James Oates, Byrnes

Oates had 12 tackles, including 10 solo, in the Rebels’ 44-17 win over Dorman.

Josh Smith, Dutch Fork

The Dutch Fork defensive end had three sacks and a forced fumble in the Silver Foxes’ 56-7 rout of Boiling Springs in the first round of the 5-A state playoffs.

Michael Boulware, Gray Collegiate

Boulware had two interceptions, returning one for a touchdown, in the War Eagles’ 62-0 win over Pelion.

Drew Spires, Richard Winn

Spires is a star on both sides of the ball. In a 77-38 win over Holy Trinity, the 6-foot-2 senior had 9.5 tackles and a forced fumble.

Brayden Woolbright, Clover

Woolbright had a key interception in the Blue Eagles’ 31-14 win over Woodmont in the first round of the 5-A state playoffs.

Jayden Woods, Northwestern

Woods had an interception as the Trojans routed Laurens 57-0 in the first round of the 4-A state playoffs.

Kaiden Watkins, Rock Hill

The Bearcats lost 31-7 to Spartanburg in the first round of the 5-A state playoffs but their defense played well. Watkins, a freshman, had an interception.
