We have seven athletes nominated this week for SBLive’s Lower State South Carolina Defensive Football Player of the Week from Oct. 26-27 and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

Here are this week’s nominations:
Yannick Smith, Summerville
The East Carolina commit is known for his receiving prowess. He’s a good defender, too. Smith hauled in two interceptions as the undefeated Green Wave downed Fort Dorchester 48-28.
Trevin Coleman, Calhoun County
Coleman returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown and recovered a fumble in the Saints’ 56-8 pounding of Wagener-Salley.
Nick Payne, Orangeburg-Wilkinson
Payne had a big night for the Bruins in their 34-0 win over Swansea with 7 tackles, including 3 for loss, a sack and a forced fumble.
Latron Moorer, Orangeburg Prep
Moorer intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble in the Indians’ 41-7 win over Greenwood Christian.
Josh Bond, Bluffton
Colleton County’s quarterback got to know Bond. The junior linebacker had 9 tackles and 3 sacks and 10 hurries in the Bobcats’ 55-21 win over Colleton County.
Andrew Winterfield, Porter-Gaud
Winterfield had 6 tackles and 3 sacks as the Cyclones’ 59-7 dominated First Baptist 59-7.
Zamone Lofties, Hampton County
Lofties, a senior safety, had an interception in the Hurricanes’ 33-7 win over Barnwell.
