We have seven athletes nominated this week for SBLive’s Upper State South Carolina Defensive Football Player of the Week from Oct. 12-13 and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

Here are this week's nominations:

Cason Brewington, Easley

How’s a pick-six for you? Brewington intercepted two passes, returning one for a touchdown, broke up three passes and made four tackles in a 63-37 win over Berea.

Talan Scott, Easley

Scott was at it again, returning a fumble for a touchdown, intercepting a pass, making 8 tackles - including 3.5 for loss - and getting a pair of sacks.

Kohen Sloand, Boiling Springs

The Bulldogs lost 17-7 to Gaffney but Sloand had a great game with 10 tackles and an interception.

Quinton Gerstenacker, Chesnee

Gerstenacker was in on 7.5 tackles, including 2 for loss, and 2 sacks in Chesnee’s 54-13 win over Blacksburg.

Kentavion Anderson, Dorman

Though the Cavaliers lost a close one, Anderson had one of the all-time ultimate plays - returning an interception 100 yards for a touchdown.

Stone Furrey, Gaffney

Furrey returned an interception 53 yards and made 6 tackles in the Indians’ 28-26 win over Dorman.

Patrick McMaster, Christ Church

McMaster had 8 tackles and 3 sacks as the Cavaliers beat Dixie 48-7.
