Here are the candidates for SBLive’s South Carolina High School Athlete of the Week for Sept. 4-9 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Here are this week's nominations:

Caroline Hawkins, Blythewood, Girls Golf

The sophomore sensation shot a 10-under-par 63 to take medalist honors in the Palmetto Preview. Hawkins is the reigning 5-A state champion.

Hakeem Watters, Hartsville, Football

Watters tallied five touchdowns as the Red Foxes rallied from a two-touchdown halftime deficit to beat Dillon 51-34 in a battle of highly-ranked unbeaten teams.

Jayden Ford, Lake View, Football

Ford scored six touchdowns in the Wild Gators’ 68-22 rout of Chesterfield. The senior tailback ran for 211 yards and 5 touchdowns while also catching a touchdown pass.’

Ty Breeze, Riverside, Football

The Warriors’ quarterback threw five touchdown passes in a 48-28 win over 1-A defending state champion Christ Church. One of Breeze’s touchdown passes was a 45-yard strike on the last play of the first half. Breeze, who also had a rushing touchdown, was 15-of-28 for 306 yards and no interceptions.

Olivia Borgman, North Myrtle Beach, Volleyball

The 6-foot-1 junior outside/middle hitter, who has commited to Georgia, had 15 kills in each of the Chiefs’ two victories during the week. North Myrtle Beach is ranked No. 2 in the latest 4-A poll.

Kendall Byrd, A.C. Flora, Football

Byrd, a wide receiver, caught four touchdown passes in the Falcons’ 42-35 win over Brookland-Cayce.

Marquise Henderson, Belton-Honea Path, Football

Henderson is no stranger to big games. The junior tailback, who has 11 college offers, ran 14 times for 305 yards and 5 touchdowns in the Bears’ 49-15 win over Woodruff.

Carly O’Brien, Dorman, Volleyball

The 5-foot-9, senior outside hitter/libero had 17 kills and 11 digs as the Cavaliers beat Daniel 2-0 in a tournament. She also had 7 kills and 14 digs in a 2-0 win over Riverside in tournament play.

Jaylen McGill, Broome, Football

A sophomore tailback who already has offers from South Carolina and Tennessee ran 23 times for 287 yards and 5 touchdowns in a 62-34 win over Union County.

Andrew Stevens, Byrnes, Football

The Rebels’ quarterback was nearly perfect, completing 16-of-18 passed for 241 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 49-13 win over Greer.
