Brady Smigiel, 5-star quarterback, previews 'Big 3' Florida spring visits, adds Florida offer

Newbury Park (California) five-star quarterback Brady Smigiel will visit Florida, Florida State and Miami during the spring

Class of 2026 Newbury Park (California) five-star quarterback Brady Smigiel is already one of the most coveted players in America.

This fall, he was named the SBLive Sports CIF Southern Section Football Offensive Player of the Year after throwing for more than 4,000 yards with 52 touchdowns.

The 6-foot-5, 210-pound signal-caller is rated the nation's No. 21 overall prospect and No. 2 quarterback and accumulated more than 30 scholarship offers.

Two more came in Thursday, as the Florida Gators and Minnesota Golden Gophers became the latest programs to offer him a full-ride scholarship.

The "exciting" offer from Florida is particularly timely, as Smigiel is planning a visit to "The Sunshine State" to visit Florida, Florida State and Miami over his spring break.

This week, Smigiel joined SBLive to quickly list what stands out in the "Big 3" in Florida:

Florida: "Offense, head coach is very involved with quarterbacks, 'The Swamp', great relationship with coach (CJ) Wilford"

Florida State: "Offense, relationships with  coach Tony Tokaraz, and on-campus recruiter Ryan Bartow, head coach involved with (quarterbacks)"

Miami: "Relationships with head coach [Mario Cristobal], dad played with Coach (Joe) Saleve'a, weather"

Smigiel has also previously visited Florida State, Michigan, Oregon, USC and others.

So, there's still many contenders in the battle for the five-star passer.

But the state of Florida will get its chance to impress soon.
