Prediction: Arizona State poised to land nation's top uncommitted running back

Arizona State is poised to land a major piece for its offense

The Arizona State Sun Devils football program is quietly building some momentum on the recruiting trail.

But it shouldn't go under-the-radar much longer.

After a significant weekend hosting visitors, the Sun Devils appear poised for a major commitment.

Prediction: Jason Brown to Arizona State Sun Devils

O'Dea (Washington) running back and All-American Bowl selection Jason Brown has been down to a final three of Michigan State, Oregon and Washington for some time.

But since de-committing from the Spartans this fall, visits to Eugene and Seattle have failed to lead to a decision.

With that in mind, it appears the 5-foot-10, 205-pound ball-carrier expanded his list.

Over the weekend, Brown took a visit to check out the Arizona State Sun Devils, and the buzz that he was intrigued is significant.

That buzz seems to be backed by at least one current ASU pledge:

So much so, in fact, that "Brown to Arizona State" feels like a near-lock.

An announcement could come soon.

What would the Sun Devils be getting?

Brown is rated the nation's No. 13 running back and is the top uncommitted ball-carrier in the country.

After a stellar freshman season, the Washington product's stock cooled a bit during his sophomore and junior seasons, but a eye-opening senior campaign re-established Brown as one of the top prospects on the West Coast.
