Nebraska Cornhuskers set to land elite offensive tackle? Buzz is growing
The Nebraska Cornhuskers haven't been subtle about their pursuit of Logan-Magnolia (Iowa) four-star offensive lineman Grant Brix.
Last month, Nebraska parked a football team-branded semi-truck outside Brix's school, which promptly led to a visit from the nation's No. 5 offensive tackle.
In an era of college football defined by splashy recruiting pitches, Nebraska's very public show of interest was a sign they were all-in on the Midwest star.
And it seems that interest may be reciprocated.
On Tuesday, 247Sports experts logged a pair of "crystal ball" predictions in favor of the Nebraska, while On3 now gives the Cornhuskers a 91.4 percent chance of securing Brix's commitment.
That momentum aligns with what I'm hearing as well.
There's significant buzz that Nebraska is well-positioned to land Brix.
That would be a massive development for a Matt Rhule-led program that has taken big strides on the recruiting trail of late.
Nebraska's 2024 recruiting class is currently ranked No. 25 nationally and is highlighted by commitments from the top six players in the home state, as well as a pair of out-of-state bluechippers - Rice Consolidated (Texas) cornerback Roger Gradney and Waipahu (Hawaii) offensive lineman Preston Taumua.
Ainsworth (Nebraska) star Carter Nelson, the nation's No. 2 tight end, is unlikely to be topped as the class headliner, but Brix would certainly be among the best additions for the Cornhuskers football program in recent years.
Can they make it happen?
The recruiting industry continues to indicate the chances are growing.
