Nebraska Cornhuskers hosting surprise 5-star visitor

Nebraska is hosting a big-time visitor this weekend

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have a decades-long tradition of churning out elite offensive linemen, and this weekend's visitor list could lead to the continuation of that proud history.

Already set to host Logan-Magnolia (Iowa) elite offensive lineman Grant Brix after parking a semi-truck outside of his school, Matt Rhule's program added another elite mauler to the list of athletes who will be in Lincoln.

On Saturday morning, Bishop Gorman (Nevada) five-star offensive tackle Douglas Utu shared on social media that he will be in Lincoln:

The trip is a bit of a surprise given that Utu was originally expected to take the trip to Utah to check out the game between the Utes and Oregon Ducks.

But the schedule change is certain to be welcomed news in Lincoln.

Utu is a 6-foot-5, 270-pound offensive lineman, rated a five-star prospect by both Rivals and ESPN, both of whom rank his as one of the top-10 prospects in America for the class of 2025.

And he won't be alone.

Utu is set to visit Nebraska alongside Bishop Gorman teammate and coveted 2025 linebacker Landon McComber, who holds offers from nearly 20 programs.

The fast-rising 6-foot-2, 195-pound 'backer has a scholarship offer list that includes Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Tennessee, USC and many others.

Building a pipeline to national powerhouse Bishop Gorman would be a major out-of-state recruiting win for the Huskers.

Can they pull it off by eventually landing Utu and McComber?

Answering that question may take time, but Nebraska will certainly get its chance to impress the dynamic duo this weekend.
