Kewan Lacy decommits from Nebraska Cornhuskers; SEC programs lurking
Lancaster (Texas) four-star running back Kewan Lacy has seen his stock soar this fall.
And now he's back on the market.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pound ball-carrier had been committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers since late June, but re-opened his recruitment amid rumblings of Alabama interest and offers from Florida and Ole Miss.
"Dear Husker Nation," Lacy wrote. "I want to thank you for the support and the opportunity to come play the sport I love at the University of Nebraska... and thank you to all the coaches for recruiting me and showing love... with that being said I am decommitting and my recruitment is 100 (percent) open."
While the decision is sure to sting Nebraska, it is far from a surprise.
Lacy has received significant interest from several SEC schools.
Ole Miss received a summer official visit and have never stopped pursuing Lacy, while Alabama and Florida have recently dramatically turned up the recruiting effort.
While Lacy's stock continues to rise, he is currently ranked the nation's No. 166 overall prospect and No. 13 running back in the class of 2024.
