Prediction: LSU Tigers to complete flip of former SEC pledge

The LSU Tigers look poised to keep a fast-rising in-state defensive back home

The writing was on the wall almost as soon as John F. Kennedy (Louisiana) cornerback and Ole Miss pledge Bernard Causey received his offer from the LSU Tigers last month.

But it feels like a lock now.

On Monday, Causey announced his decommitment from the Ole Miss Rebels.

"Beyond grateful for the opportunity to be offered a scholarship to Ole Miss, but at this time I will be decommiting to open up my options," he posted to social media. "I want to thank the team, the coaches, and the fans for all the love I was shown. Ole Miss will still be an option. #pleaserespectmydecision

Prediction: Bernard Causey to LSU Tigers

The 6-foot, 170-pound cornerback has seen his stock rise as a senior, and he picked up an offer from LSU late last month.

Since that time, Causey has been projected to eventually flip.

Monday's news, while not a complete flip, feels like a first (big) step in that direction.

Overall, LSU's 2024 recruiting class is ranked No. 12 nationally and consists of 24 pledges.

That could soon be 25.
