Michigan Wolverines coaches visit nation's No. 1 prospect Friday night
The Michigan Wolverines have a road game against the Michigan State Spartans this weekend, which allows the coaching staff to check out top in-state high schoolers Friday.
And Michigan wasn't shy about publicly identifying one of its top targets.
On Friday, Michigan quarterback coach Kirk Campbell and linebacker/special teams coach Chris Partridge were spotted on the sideline of Belleville High School for its game against Northville:
Of course, Belleville's roster boasts talented quarterback Bryce Underwood, the nation's No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2025, as well as current Michigan linebacker pledge Jeremiah Beasley (2024).
Throughout his recruitment, Underwood has built a strong relationship with Campbell, so his presence is certainly noteworthy.
Given that quarterbacks are committing increasingly early in modern recruiting, it makes sense that the Wolverines are going to be as active as possible when it comes to recruiting Underwood.
And it seems that feeling is mutual.
While Underwood is weighing his options, he has visited and expressed significant interest in Michigan and LSU, while also taking trips to see Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Penn State and others.
So far, the 6-foot-3, 210-pound signal-caller has backed up all the hype and attention he's received.
During his freshman and sophomore seasons, Underwood led Belleville to back-to-back state championships, throwing for a combined 5,650 yards and 76 touchdowns while adding 642 yards and eight scores in his sophomore campaign.
Underwood is set to announce his commitment in January.
Expect Michigan to be in the hunt until the end.
