Prediction: Georgia Bulldogs poised for imminent running back commitment

Georgia is poised to land a key in-state running back

The Georgia Bulldogs have finished with a top-three recruiting class nationally each of the past four seasons and have the No. 1 recruiting class in the country so far in the 2024 cycle.

But Kirby Smart's program is also laying the groundwork for an impressive 2025 haul, a group that also ranks No. 1 nationally early with seven commitments.

But it looks like it's about to be eight.

Prediction: Bo Walker to Georgia Bulldogs

Georgia ramped up its effort to recruit Cedar Grove (Georgia) ball-carrier Bo Walker in recent weeks, hosting him on two visits and offering him a scholarship last month.

The 5-foot-9, 198-pound ball-carrier hasn't been shy about that feeling being mutual.

"They say all dawgs stay home," he posted with a picture of himself in Athens.

Down to a top six of Arkansas, Central Florida, Georgia, Louisville, Mississippi State and Ole Miss, it has felt like Walker is gearing up for an early commitment for the past couple of weeks.

On Thursday, he made that official, scheduling a 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT college announcement:

Given the rapid ascension in the relationship between Walker and Georgia, this feels like a slam dunk - even despite a trip to UCF last weekend.

Walker is a three-star back whose stock is skyrocketing.

He was named MVP of the Atlanta Rivals Camp Series with glowing reviews as a ball-carrier and pass-catcher out of the backfield.

"Running backs like Walker thrive in the camp setting and it showed on Sunday with an MVP performance. At 5-foot-8 and 198 pounds, Walker's explosiveness caught some people off guard despite having a very solid build. He did a great job catching the ball away from his body and had no problem making linebackers seem like they were stuck in the mud."

"Quarterbacks had a really easy time getting him the ball, whether it was on crossing routes, out routes, or routes down the field. It will be interesting to see what direction his recruitment goes from here given his small stature, but there’s no doubting his explosiveness and ability to be an asset in the passing game."

Georgia should have a well-rounded in-state running in its 2025 class by day's end.
