George MacIntyre, 5-star quarterback, trims list to 10, visiting 2 this week

Brentwood Academy (Tennessee) five-star quarterback George MacIntyre cuts his list

Brentwood Academy (Tennessee) five-star quarterback George MacIntyre is almost universally regarded as a top-two quarterback in the class of 2025.

On3, 247Sports and ESPN all view him as the No. 2 quarterback in the country. Rivals, which ranks him lowest, still has him at No. 3.

In other words, there's little debate he's a five-star talent.

So far, the 6-foot-5, 185-pound signal-caller has generated more than 30 scholarship offers from many of the nation's top programs.

On Monday, MacIntyre cut his list to 10: Alabama, Auburn, Florida International, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oregon, Tennessee and UCLA.

"Grateful to every school that has taken the time to recruit me," he wrote. "This process has been a blessing and I can only thank the man above."

Rated the nation's No. 11 overall prospect, MacIntyre has already taken several visits, highlighted by Alabama, Florida International, Michigan, LSU and Tennessee.

But there's an intriguing added element to the Tennessee star's recruitment - MacIntyre is a high-level basketball prospect who holds early scholarships from Arizona State and Florida International.

While it seems quite clear his future is in football, it is an interesting wrinkle to monitor.

This week, MacIntyre told SBLiveSports he will take a mid-week visit to Florida International and a weekend unofficial visit to Tennessee.

Both are return trips.

It's still too early to say where the five-star quarterback will end up.

But it's officially down to 10.
