Jackson Cantwell, nation's No. 1 offensive tackle, details Nebraska Cornhuskers visit
The Nebraska Cornhuskers hosted one of the nation's top recruits on a visit last weekend during their 45-7 loss to Michigan.
Nixa (Missouri) five-star offensive lineman Jackson Cantwell, the nation's No. 3 overall prospect in the class of 2026, said the visit gave him a lot to think about.
"I had a pretty good trip," he said. "The game didn’t go the way they wanted, but I still think that there were a lot of good takeaways- their program is developing into something good, they have a very good offensive line system and I have a good relationship with the coaches there."
The 6-foot-8, 305-pound offensive tackle is drawn to Nebraska, in part, because of the program's rich tradition embraces its offensive line culture.
"It’s definitely very appealing," Cantwell said. "The way their offensive line plays and is regarded is very likable and interesting to watch from the outside in."
So, was the trip enough to garner another visit to Lincoln down the road?
"I’ll likely come back either in the spring or next year for another visit," Cantwell said. "It’s definitely near the top, but I have a lot of schools all in the same range right now so there is no clear cut favorite."
The Missouri product, who won the Class 5 shot put state title as a freshman, doesn't know where he'll visit next, but has several schools in mind.
Given that he's the No. 1 offensive tackle in America, and already boasts more than 20 scholarship offers, he's certain to have plenty of options.
