The Notre Dame football team is preparing to take on Ohio State in the biggest college football game of the week and one of the Fighting Irish's most important game in years.

Regardless of the outcome Saturday night in South Bend, Notre Dame fans can celebrate a recruiting win from earlier in the day.

Daniel Anderson, a four-star running back from Bryant (Arkansas), announced his commitment to Notre Dame just hours before the team's game against Ohio State.

Anderson, who made the trip to Indiana for the big game, was able to announce his decision in-person to Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman and company.

Anderson is the nation's No. 30 running back and No. 317 overall recruit in the class of 2025. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound junior is a four-star recruit, per the 247Sports composite rankings.

Last year as a sophomore, Anderson carried the ball 74 times for 856 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also caught nine passes for 246 yards and three touchdowns.

While he's now a coveted recruit with several major offers, Anderson wasn't expecting to receiver an offer from Notre Dame this summer.

“It was a huge surprise,” Anderson told SBLive in June.

A few months later, Anderson is officially a member of Notre Dame's 2025 recruiting class.
