The Oregon Ducks are hosting a massive recruiting weekend for the their game against the Colorado Buffaloes.
And that effort may already be paying dividends.
On Thursday, buzz began to grow that Oregon may have picked up a massive commitment, and that chatter quickly popped up on social media.
Sunnyslope (Arizona) four-star quarterback Luke Moga tweeted a duck emoji, which traditionally indicates a commitment.
And it sounds like the rumored pledge might come from the class of 2026.
While Oregon is hosting several of the nation's top 2026 prospects this weekend, one target stands out.
For Desert Mountain (Arizona) five-star defensive lineman Tony Cumberland, the nation's No. 11 overall prospect and No. 2 defensive lineman, this is a key visit and a return trip.
During this week's "Recruiting with Andrew Nemec" on ESPN-affiliate 1080 The FAN, I previewed the top visitors expected in Eugene and singled out Cumberland's trip as "one to watch."
It's early in his recruitment, and he's being coveted by many of the nation's top programs, but this already felt like a major visit before the "2026 commitment buzz" began.
Now, it seems like Cumberland is one to watch very closely.
The recruiting industry agrees.
Two of 247Sports' top experts added "Cumberland to Oregon" predictions Thursday.
At this point, it's all speculation, but there's growing smoke Thursday night that Oregon has added a five-star commitment.
