Oregon Ducks commit among nation's biggest risers in new rankings

On3 released its updated class of 2024 prospect rankings

On3 released its updated rankings for the top 300 prospects in the class of 2024, and it was good news for several fanbases.

The Oregon Ducks were among those who saw one of their commits get a significant bump.

San Jacinto (California) four-star wide receiver Dillon Gresham jumped from No. 211 to No. 140, making him one of the biggest risers anywhere in the country.

Here's what On3 had to say about him as a prospect:

"Dillon Gresham has always been an explosive field-stretcher that can take the top off of opposing defenses with ease. But early in his senior season he has proven that he can be a weapon at all levels of the field. He’s shown the ability to win in the middle of the field and as an underneath threat with his change of direction and fluidity as a route runner. He displays this fluidity with the ball in his hands as well by making defenders miss in a phone booth. But don’t get it twisted, Gresham is still a monster of a deep threat and he seems even sharper when it comes to his ball tracking downfield. The more he polishes his game, the higher his floor raises as a receiver prospect."

As a junior, the 6-foot-1, 180-pound pass-catcher registered 2,050 yards and 31 touchdowns receiving, including 1,087 yards and 15 scores in four playoff games.

That late-season surge put Gresham on the radar of a lot of folks - college football coaching staffs, evaluators and opposing coaches.

His stock has only continued to grow since.

Gresham committed to Oregon in May, choosing the Ducks over offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Miami, Oregon State, USC, Washington and others.

“There were a lot of reasons why I chose Oregon,” Gresham told 247Sports. “I had a great visit there a few months back and it just felt like home to me.

“I knew while I was on campus that Oregon was where I wanted to be. I loved everything about the school and how welcoming the staff was to me and my family. I had some great visits to other schools and really good options but Oregon was the best all around fit for me.”

Gresham was already viewed as a potential gem for the Ducks, but his stock has obviously only gone up since his commitment.

He joins a talented collection of pass-catchers that also includes Newport Harbor (California) four-star receiver Jordan Anderson and Mater Dei (California) three-star receiver Jack Ressler
