The Miami Hurricanes just picked up a huge commitment.

Armondo Blount, a five-star defensive lineman from Miami Central (Florida), announced on Thursday he will be staying local to play college football. Blount committed to Miami, picking the hometown Hurricanes over Florida State, Oklahoma, Ohio State and USC.

The 6-foot-3, 250-pound junior is the nation's No. 2 defensive lineman and No. 5 overall recruit in the class of 2025, per the 247Sports composite rankings.

Blount stars for the No. 9 team in the SBLive/Sports Illustrated Power 25 national rankings. In Miami Central's last game, a 38-28 win over Booker T. Washington (Florida), Blount returned a fumble 20 yards for a touchdown.

The five-star defensive lineman transferred to Miami Central this year after a standout sophomore campaign at Dillard (Florida) in which he totaled 16 sacks and 30 tackles for loss.

Blount is the third commit in the class of 2025 for head coach Mario Cristobal and Miami.

The Hurricanes' 2025 recruiting class jumped eight spots to No. 6 in the national rankings with Blount's commitment.
