Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Pennsylvania high school athlete of the week for September October 1-7. Read through the nominees and cast your vote. Voting will conclude Sunday at 11:59 p.m. Votes must be made in the poll and emailed votes will not count. Alex Erby, Steelton-Highspire football

The lefty threw for 341 yards and five touchdowns in a win over Camp Hill. In the second quarter, he became the leading passer in Pennsylvania history, surpassing Brett Brumbaugh of South Lafayette.

Tyson Florence, Western Beaver football

In a won over Riverside on Saturday, Florence caught a pair of passes for 108 yards and a touchdown, ran for almost 100 yards and two touchdowns and returned a punt for a score.

Garrett Garcia, Southern Columbia football

Ran for a career-high 269 yards and scored two touchdowns in a win over Central Columbia.

Jackson Humes, North East football

Completed 16-of-19 passes for 270 yards and four touchdowns, while rushing for 57 yards and a score in a win over Corry.

Samaj Jones, St. Joseph’s Prep football

The University of Cincinnati recruit accounted for four touchdowns as the Hawks defeated La Salle 42-7. He threw three touchdown passes and ran for another.

Braden Laux, Belle Vernon football

In a win over Greensburg Salem, Laux completed 14-of-16 passes for 337 yards and three touchdowns, all in the first half.

Shawn Lee, Jr., Harrisburg football

The quarterback ran for 128 yards and four touchdowns in a 34-27 win over Central Dauphin East. His final touchdown came with a minute left on a 16-yard run to give the Cougars the win.

Mya Morgan, Elizabeth Forward girls golf

Shot a 1-under par 71 in the final round of the Class 3A WPIAL championship at Diamond Run Golf Club to finish at 2-over 146 and won the event by 12 strokes.

Blayze Myers, McDowell football

In a win over Meadville, the junior quarterback threw for 291 yards and four touchdowns and also ran for a score.

Emily Oslosky, Penn-Trafford girls soccer

In a 1-0 win over Gateway on Wednesday, Oslosky scored the only goal 3:51 into overtime to give the Warriors the victory.

Elijah Palmer-McCane, Ellwood City football

Accounted for five touchdowns in 62-40 win over New Brighton. He ran for 286 yards and four touchdowns and added a score on a 55-yard catch.

Ethan Pillar, Pine-Richland football

Ran for 297 yards and a touchdown on 56 carries as Pine-Richland handed Pittsburgh Central Catholic its first loss of the season, 26-19.

Deakon Schaeffer, Mifflin County football

On Thursday night, the senior running back found the end zone six times and ran for 229 yards on 46 carries and added 34 yards receiving. He scored five times on the ground and once on a catch in a 42-35 win over Milton Hershey.

Julia Seth, Mercyhurst Prep girls volleyball

In a five-set win over Fort LeBouf, she recorded 45 assists and 16 digs.

Carter Shanafelt, Peters Township football

In a win over Moon Area, the receiver caught five passes for 166 yards and three touchdowns and also returned an interception for a score.

Lilly Snyder, Moon Area girls soccer

After a game against Montour had gone scoreless through regulation and one overtime, Snyder found the net with less than two minutes remaining in the second overtime for the win.

Quadir Stribling, Serra Catholic football

Completed 20 of his 23 passes for 357 yards and four touchdowns in a win over Yough.

Ethan Varesko, Bethlehem-Center football

Carried the ball 22 times for 422 yards and four touchdowns in a win over Bentworth.

Zach Welsh, Canon-McMillan football

Had 280 yards rushing and four touchdowns in a win over Baldwin.
