Meet the top uncommitted football players in Pennsylvania's 2025 class

St. Joseph's Prep has four of the top 10 uncommitted juniors in Pennsylvania high school football

The 2023 high school football season will begin on Friday, August 25 in the state of Pennsylvania.

While most of the top players in the senior class have already made their college commitments, there are plenty of juniors who are highly recruited and still have that decision to make.

Here are the top 10 players in the state of Pennsylvania’s class of 2025, listed in alphabetical order.

All rankings are from the 247Sports composite rankings.

Dayshaun Burnett, LB, Imani Christian

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker is the No. 6 player in the state and the No/ 27 linebacker nationally for 2025.

Penn State, Michigan State, West Virginia and Duke are among the offers for the four-star prospect.

Tiqwai Hayes, RB, Aliquippa

The No. 2 running back in Pennsylvania in the class of 2025, Hayes in the No. 9 player in the state overall.

As a sophomore, Hayes had almost 2,000 yards rushing with 33 touchdowns. As a freshman, he ran for more than 1,700 yards and 23 scores.

His list of offers includes Penn State, Ohio State, Louisville and Cincinnati.

Zahir Mathis, EDGE, Imhotep

The 6-foot-6, 215-pound edge rusher is the top player in the state in the class of 2025 and the No. 10 player at his position nationally.

The offers for the four-star prospect include Alabama, Florida, Michigan, Colorado, Georgia and LSU.

Brady O’Hara, ATH, North Catholic

The 6-foot-6, 235-pound athlete had 48 tackles last season with 11 tackles for loss and is the No. 7 player in the state of Pennsylvania in 2025.

Among the offers for the four-star athlete are Penn State, Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Maxwell Roy, DL, St. Joseph’s Prep

At 6-foot-3 and 270 pounds, Roy is the No. 3 player in the class of 2025 for the state and the No. 18 player at his position nationally.

The offers for the four-star defensive lineman include Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin and USC.

Anthony Sacca, LB, St. Joseph’s Prep

The No. 2 player in Pennsylvania in the class of 2025, the 6-foot-3, 225-pound linebacker is a four-star prospect.

His offers include Oregon, Notre Dame, Penn State and Ohio State.

Cam Smith, DB, St. Joseph’s Prep

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound defensive back holds multiple offers, including Penn State, Rutgers, Boston College and West Virginia.

He transferred to St. Joseph Prep after spending his first two season at Salem High School (New Jersey).

Stone Saunders, QB, Bishop McDevitt

The No. 8 player in Pennsylvania for 2025 and the No. 23 quarterback nationally, Saunders was the Gatorade Player of the Year in the state last season when he threw for more than 3,500 yards and 54 touchdowns. He set a state championship game record with five touchdown passes.

He has narrowed his list of college choices down to Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Nebraska and Miami (FL) and is scheduled to make his decision on August 4.

Kahlil Stewart, OL, St. Joseph’s Prep

The 6-foot-4, 295-pound lineman has multiple offers, including Penn State, Maryland and Kentucky.

After two years at Roman Catholic, he has transferred to St. Joseph’s Prep for his junior season.

Sharlandiin Strange, EDGE, Cheltenham

The No. 5 player in the state and the No. 16 edge rusher nationally, the 6-foot-4, 230-pounder is a four-star prospect.

His offers include South Carolina, Maryland, Nebraska and Texas A&M.
