Players to watch at Oregon 6A girls basketball state tournament
The OSAA 6A girls basketball state tournament begins Thursday at the University of Portland's Chiles Center. Here's a look at some of the top players to watch at the event.

Brooke Anderson, sr., Grants Pass
A four-year varsity scoring machine, Anderson was voted Southwest player of the year as a senior. The point guard did a little of everything in Grants Pass’ 54-45 round-of-16 win at McMinnville, putting up 15 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals.
Chanucey Andersen, jr., Jefferson
Anderson is capable of playing inside and outside for Jefferson. She was a first-team all-PIL selection and averages 22 points, eight rebounds and two assists.
Sara Barhoum, jr., Clackamas
One of Clackamas’ many standouts, Barhoum led the way with 28 points in the round-of-16 win over West Salem. She was voted first-team all-Mt. Hood and averages 15 points and 3.2 rebounds.
Audrey Bayless, jr., Jesuit
Playing a supporting role next to star Kendra Hicks, Bayless is averaging 10.6 points per game. The junior was a first-team all-Metro selection.
Kim Ceron, sr., South Medford
A key reserve on last season’s state runner-up team, Ceron is now a starter for the top-seeded Panthers. She was voted second-team all-Southwest.
Mahogany Chandler-Roberts, sr., Benson
Fresh off her third PIL player of the year honor, Chandler-Roberts is ready to close her decorated prep career with a state title. The UCF signee is averaging 15.4 points for a balanced Techsters squad.
Eboni Clay, sr., Benson
Clay, a first-team all-PIL performer, brings leadership to Benson’s backcourt. She averages 14.5 points per game.
Jazzy Davidson, jr., Clackamas
Already a two-time Oregon Gatorade Player of the Year, Davidson is on track to become one of the best girls basketball players in state history. The five-star recruit repeated as Mt. Hood player of the year and is the most dangerous offensive threat at the state tournament. She is averaging 26.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 3.8 steals and one block.
Isabella Harms, jr., Willamette
A junior forward, Harms received first-team all-Southwest recognition this winter. She averages 16.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals.
Mauriana Hashemian-Orr, sr., Benson
Another Benson senior standout, Hashemian-Orr provides plenty of scoring at 14.3 points per game. She was voted second-team all-PIL.
Kendra Hicks, sr., Jesuit
The Metro player of the year, Hicks is the leading rebounder in Jesuit history. The senior center had a 30-point, 31-rebound game in February and averages 14.5 points and 16.1 rebounds.
Abrianna Lawrence, jr., Jefferson
A Day 1 varsity starter, Lawrence has improved every season during her time at Jefferson. She was voted first-team all-PIL and is averaging 15 points, seven rebounds and nine assists.
Sara Mangan, so., Southridge
A first-team all-Metro pick for the second consecutive year, Mangan is the leader of Southridge’s attack. The sophomore guard averages 17.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.8 steals.
Samarah Massey, so., Benson
Massey is a versatile sophomore guard/forward who averages 11 points per game. She received second-team all-PIL recognition.
Audrey Meek, sr., Southridge
Meek is another strong ball-handler who averages 6.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and two steals. She was voted second-team all-Metro.
Dylan Mogel, jr., Clackamas
Mogel is a talented junior guard who shines at both ends of the court for Clackamas. She received first-team all-Mt. Hood honors and averages 6.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, three assists and 2.4 steals.
Victoria Nguyen, jr., Willamette
Nguyen, a second-team all-Southwest pick, runs the point for junior-led Willamette. She is averaging 6.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.5 steals.
Leila Nunez, jr., Jefferson
Another first-team all-PIL pick from Jefferson, Nunez has excellent length as a rim protector and averages 11 points and six rebounds. Her twin sister, Carmela, also plays for the Democrats.
Allie Roden, jr., Clackamas
The fourth Cavalier to receive first-team all-Mt. Hood honors, Roden is a junior standout who can score and defend. She is committed to Colorado State and averages 12.9 points, six rebounds and 2.4 steals.
Sara Schmerbach, sr., South Medford
Schmerbach is a versatile junior who fills several roles for top-seeded South Medford. She was voted first-team all-Southwest.
Brynn Smith, jr., Willamette
Smith is one of the state’s best scorers. She averages 18.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.5 steals. The lead guard was voted first-team all-Southwest.
Brooklyn Wakefield, sr., Grants Pass
Wakefield is a four-year starter for Grants Pass who shined against McMinnville with 14 points, 11 rebounds and three steals. She was a first-team all-Southwest selection.
Taylor Young, so., South Medford
The Southwest defensive player of the year, Young is the next great guard to come out of South Medford. She averages 17 points and four steals and is shooting 41 percent from 3-point range.
