Les Schwab Invitational 2023: Day 5 highlights, top stars, statistical leaders
The 27th Les Schwab Invitational boys basketball tournament concluded Saturday at Liberty High School in Hillsboro, Oregon.

Final
Columbus (Fla.) 55, Harvard-Westlake (Calif.) 54
Malik Abdullahi scored from under the basket with two seconds remaining, and the Explorers held on to beat the Wolverines in the championship game.
Jase Richardson had 19 points, Cameron Boozer put up 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and Cayden Boozer added 11 points with six assists for tournament champion Columbus (10-4) of Florida.
Abdullahi (Princeton commit) finished with seven points and seven rebounds, none bigger than his game-winner with time winding down and the Explorers trailing, 54-53.
Nikolas Khamenia (19 points), Trent Perry (17) and Robert Hinton (14) combined for 50 points for Harvard-Westlake (15-1) of California. After calling a timeout with two seconds left, the inbound passer for the Wolverines was called for illegally moving on the baseline, turning possession over to Columbus, which ran out the final two seconds to secure the title.
Third place
Perry (Ariz.) 90, Central Catholic 80
D’Andre Harrison led all scorers with 28 points, and the Pumas eased by the Rams to claim third place.
No No Brown put up 22 points, Koa Peat added 18 points with 13 rebounds, and Barron Silsby potted 13 points for Perry (11-3) of Arizona. The Pumas led 42-32 at the break and knocked down 11 of 15 threes and 21 of 29 free throws in their victory.
Marley Zeller (27 points), Duce Paschal (20), Isaac Carr (11) and Zamir Paschal (10) combined for all but 12 points to help Central Catholic (6-3) stick around. Robbie Long and Tony Angelo scored six bench points apiece to round out the offense for the Rams.
Central Catholic finished 44.8% (13 of 29) from three-point range and committed just one turnover.
Fifth place
Southridge 85, Beaverton 67
The Skyhawks used a 25-4 second quarter and had five players score in double digits, taking fifth place with a convincing win over the Beavers.
Alonzo Hoff (22 points), Keenan Reckamp (16), Dante Scott (11), Carter Fortune (10) and Elijah Thompson (10) accounted for the bulk of the scoring for Southridge (10-1). The Skyhawks trailed 22-14 after one period but won each of the final three quarters.
Max Elmgren and Aidan Rice put up 18 points apiece, Aiden Gellatly had 13 points, and Max Campbell contributed eight to pace Beaverton (7-4).
Consolation final
Tualatin 75, Jesuit 72 (OT)
Jaden Steppe racked up a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds, Zach Zuckerman scored 14 points, and the Timberwolves prevailed over the Crusaders in overtime.
Javier Diaz added 13 points and Jemai Lake pitched in 11 as Tualatin (9-4) won the consolation final.
Pat Kilfoil led all scorers with 27 points, Isaac Bongen and Hudson Rommel tallied 12 apiece, and Nico Rafalovich added 10 points with nine rebounds for Jesuit (6-4). The Crusaders led 33-30 at halftime and made 12 of 28 three-point attempts.
Other games
West Linn 72, Lake Oswego 48
The Lions ran out to a 35-15 halftime lead and forced 27 turnovers using 21 steals in a comprehensive victory over the Lakers.
Jalen Snook scored 29 points and had six steals, Max Juhala had 12 points with seven rebounds and four steals, and Nick DiGuilio added 10 points to lead the attack for West Linn (4-6), which also got six points from Pat Viavla in its first win of the tournament.
Liam Rigney notched 11 points with five rebounds, and Chris Novitsky and Robbie Durbin had eight bench points apiece for Lake Oswego (2-10).
Liberty 71, Mountainside 65
Elijah Streeter had 20 points off the bench, Tyler Bradford scored 19 and grabbed 10 rebounds, and James Kefgen added 14 points, helping the Falcons edge the Mavericks to finish the tournament 2-2.
Tavian Womack chipped in seven bench points, and Donovan Crowder scored five points and dished out five assists to aid tournament host Liberty (7-2).
Eli Vizconde (23 points), Omar Faroukh (14) and J’Kobi Nicholson (13 points, 10 rebounds) reached double digits to lead Mountainside (6-4), which stormed back from an early nine-point deficit to tie it at 49-49 entering the final period.
Cascade Christian 77, Summit 75
Austin Maurer put up game highs of 29 points, 12 rebounds and four blocked shots in 32 minutes, Jaren Fronckonwiak scored 13 points, and Deryk Farmer added 12 points, leading the Challengers to a narrow win over the Storm.
Peyton Maurer chipped in nine points, and Avery Huston had eight points and seven rebounds for Cascade Christian (4-5). The Challengers, who drilled 11 three-pointers, held a 36-31 halftime advantage before hanging on to pick up their second victory in the tournament.
Pearson Carmichael went for 25 points and nine rebounds, Collin Moore had 20 and nine, and Mac Bledsoe added 12 points to pace Summit (5-4), which made 2 of 18 three-point attempts.
Mt. Spokane (Wash.) 71, Barlow 69
The Wildcats built a 26-13 lead after eight minutes and got just enough offense the rest of the way, holding on to down the pesky Bruins and close their tournament showing at 2-2.
Nalu Vargas (21 points), Ryan Lafferty (17) and McKay Smith (15) finished in double figures to guide Mt. Spokane (8-2) of Washington to the victory. Barlow (6-3) erased all but two of its 13-point hole entering the final quarter, but the teams played to a 25-25 draw over the final eight minutes, giving Mt. Spokane the two-point win.
Mason Bierbrauer dropped 21 points, Sentori Martino put up 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Jalen Atkins had 16 points in the Bruins’ third defeat of the tournament.
