The 27th Les Schwab Invitational boys basketball tournament continued Thursday at Liberty High School in Hillsboro, Oregon. 

Here’s a game-by-game recap of what went down, plus Day 3 statistical leaders.

Quarterfinals

Central Catholic 77, Barlow 65

Marley Zeller dropped a game-high 22 points, Isaac Carr scored 18, and Duce Paschal threw down 14, leading the Rams over the Bruins and into Friday’s semifinals. 

Central Catholic (6-1) got nine points from Zamir Paschal and six apiece from Jalen Nicholson and Tony Angelo. The Rams drilled 11 three-pointers and 16 of 18 from the free throw line. 

Jalen Atkins and Mason Bierbrauer tallied 21 points each, Brayden Barron scored 10 points, and Cole Patrick added nine for Barlow (6-1). The Bruins led 20-16 after eight minutes, but they were outscored by 15 over the middle two periods and missed 20 three-pointers. 

Perry (Ariz.) 72, Mt. Spokane (Wash.) 61

The Pumas erased an early 17-4 deficit, racing back to down the Wildcats and earn a berth in the semifinals. 

D’Andre Harrison posted a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds, Koa Peat went for 20 points with nine rebounds, and Dominic Avalos came off the bench to score 11 points to lead Perry (10-3) of Arizona to the comeback victory. 

Ryan Lafferty led all scorers with 25 points, Bode Gardner had 14, and Andrew Rayment added 10 to lead the charge for Mt. Spokane (7-1) of Washington. The Wildcats were outscored by a combined 49-25 in the second and fourth quarters and missed 19 of 22 three-point attempts in the loss.

Columbus (Fla.) 83, Beaverton 54

Cameron Boozer scored 33 points and grabbed 19 rebounds in 26 minutes, and the Explorers cruised by the Beavers to claim a berth in the semifinals. 

Jase Richardson added 17 points with eight assists, and Cayden Boozer put up 15 points with eight assists as Columbus (8-4) of Florida won all four periods in the decisive victory. 

Aidan Rice had 23 points, Max Elmgren notched nine, and Chance Winter and Max Campbell pitched in eight points apiece for Beaverton (6-3). The Beavers trailed 44-27 at the break and were outrebounded 47-28 on the night. 

Harvard-Westlake (Calif.) 77, Southridge 43

The Wolverines sprinted to a 42-13 halftime advantage and dominated the glass in a rout of the Skyhawks

Nikolas Khamenia (16 points), Trent Perry (14), Dominique Bentho (14) and Christian Horry (11) finished in double figures to carry Harvard-Westlake (14-0) of California to Friday’s semifinals. 

Kaden Groenig scored 12 points, Carter Fortune had eight, and Alonzo Hoff dropped in six points to lead Southridge (8-1). The Skyhawks managed two points in the second quarter and were outrebounded 40-18 in their first loss of the season. 

Consolation

Cascade Christian 60, Mountainside 54

The Challengers bolted to a 12-3 lead after one quarter and drained 17 of 19 free throws in a hard-fought win over the pesky Mavericks. 

Austin Maurer had game highs of 23 points and 17 rebounds, Avery Huston added 11 points and nine rebounds, and Peyton Maurer pitched in 10 points to lead the charge for Cascade Christian (3-4). 

Eli Vizconde (19 points), Taj Smith (11) and Peyton Reyes (10) reached double figures, and J’Kobi Nicholson scored eight points with 10 rebounds for Mountainside (5-3). The Mavericks won the second half 37-31 but missed 25 three-point attempts (8 of 33) in defeat.

Tualatin 80, Lake Oswego 59 

Jaden Steppe poured in 34 points and pulled down nine rebounds, and the Timberwolves built a 14-point halftime lead en route to a comfortable win over the Lakers. 

Jemai Lake added 14 points, and Javier Diaz had 13 points in 19 minutes in support of Tualatin (7-4). 

Aengus Sutherland (16 points), Liam Rigney (12) and Isaac McCoy (11) reached double digits, and Peter Cory and Corbin Cichy chipped in six points apiece for Lake Oswego (2-8), which was outscored 19-5 from the free throw line.

Jesuit 71, West Linn 58

The Crusaders used a balanced offensive attack and sizable rebounding advantage to cruise past the Lions and advance to a consolation semifinal matchup against Summit. 

Isaac Bongen had 18 points, Nico Rafalovich potted 17, and Ryan Fraser netted 10 off the bench to lead Jesuit (5-3). Pat Kilfoil added seven points, and Tyler Curvy and Joe Stimpson tallied six each for the Crusaders, who won the rebounding battle, 36-22. 

Nick DiGuilio (19 points), Gavin Gross (11), Jalen Snook (11) and Pat Viavla (10) finished in double figures to pace West Linn (3-5). 

Summit 96, Liberty 75 

Pearson Carmichael racked up a tournament-high 44 points, including seven three-pointers, Collin Moore had 22 points and 10 rebounds, and Paxon Kettering scored 17, helping the Storm breeze by the Falcons to the consolation semifinal round. 

Carmichael made 11 of 12 free throws as Summit (5-2) hit 26 of 31 from the line. 

Tyler Bradford (22 points), James Kefgen (15) and Tavian Womack (14 off the bench) scored in double digits, and Donovan Crowder contributed nine points and dished out five assists for tournament host Liberty (5-2), which trailed 42-35 at halftime.
