Emerson Kearney of Sheldon voted the WaFd Bank Oregon Girls Basketball Athlete of the Week

Kearney received 61% of the vote, beating out Nelson’s Lainey Day, who finished second with 21.63%

Congratulations to Sheldon’s Emerson Kearney for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Oregon Girls Basketball Athlete of the Week for the week of Dec. 11-17. 

Kearney, a senior guard on the Sheldon team, scored a team-high 20 points to lead the way for the Irish in a 54-46 win over Summit in a nonleague game at Summit High School.

Kearney received 61% of the vote, beating out Lainey Day, a sophomore on the Nelson team, who finished second with 21.63%. Savannah Dahl, a freshman on the Forest Grove team, was third with 10.68% and Jaylyn Arosemena, a senior on the Tualatin team, was fourth with 4.42%. There were nearly 2,000 votes tallied this week.
