Corvallis boys cross country
The Spartans took the top spot in the team standings at the Mid-Willamette Conference Preview Meet, held at Cheadle Park. Corvallis finished in first place with a score of 42 points. Central and Crescent Valley tied for second, each with a score of 78. Junior Cole Fiegener led the way for the Spartans at the meet, running to second place, individually, with his time of 15 minutes, 44.57 seconds for the 5,000-meter course.

The Spartans turned in an impressive performance in running to victory at the Mid-Willamette Conference Preview Meet, held at Cheadle Park. Corvallis claimed first place at the event with a score of 30 points. Dallas was second with 49. Senior Kate Middleton paced the Spartans at the race, running to second place in the individual results with her mark of 19 minutes, 11.71 seconds for the 5,000-meter course.
Grant boys cross country
The Generals, with an impressive group of runners at the front of the pack, took first place at a five-school Portland Interscholastic League meet held at Grant Park. Grant took the top spot with a score of 20 points. Lincoln was second with a score of 52. The Generals had six of the top seven finishers in the race, led by junior Leonardo Aslakson, who finished second in a time of 16 minutes, 23.52 seconds for the 5,000-meter race.
Harrisburg boys cross country
The Eagles ran to victory at the nine-team Glide Invitational, held at Glide High School. Harrisburg claimed the top spot with a score of 26 points. Glide was second with a score of 45. Junior Luke Cheek helped lead the Eagles to the win, as he finished in second place, individually, with his time of 17 minutes, 53.6 seconds for the 5,000-meter race.
Henley football
The Hornets tipped Cascade 33-21 in a nonleague showdown between Class 4A unbeaten teams, played at Cascade High School. Senior running back Logan Whitlock had 36 carries for 145 yards and four touchdowns to help lead the way for Henley in the victory.
Heppner volleyball
The Mustangs, after dropping the first two sets of the match, rallied to score a 23-25, 10-25, 25-21, 25-23, 15-8 home win over Stanfield in a key Blue Mountain Conference match. With the win, Heppner moved to 3-0 in conference play, claiming sole possession of first place in the standings. Freshman setter/outside hitter Maya Payne had 20 digs, 18 assists, 10 kills and three aces for the Mustangs in the win, while junior setter/outside hitter Ava Gerry had 16 assists, 12 digs, 11 kills and four aces.
Jesuit boys cross country
The Crusaders claimed the championship in the invitational division at The Mook XC Invite, held at Alderbrook Golf Course in Tillamook. Jesuit had a score of 63 points to take the top spot in the 25-team event. Issaquah, Wash., was second with a score of 108. Senior Caden Swanson paced the Crusaders in the race, finishing in fifth place with a time of 15 minutes, 0.2 seconds for the 5,000-meter course.

The Crusaders ran to victory in the invitational division at The Mook XC Invite, held at Alderbrook Golf Course in Tillamook. Jesuit had a score of 48 points to take first-place in the 19-team field. Issaquah, Wash., was second at 98. Senior Liliana Hudnut led the way for the Crusaders, finishing in fourth place in the individual results with her mark of 17 minutes, 49.8 seconds for the 5,000-meter course.
Jesuit volleyball
The Crusaders won all three of their matches at the South Albany State Preview, beating Westview 25-22, 25-10, Crescent Valley 26-24, 25-15 and Oregon City 25-22, 25-17. Jesuit also topped Mountainside and Beaverton in Metro League play during the week, giving the Crusaders a 6-0 league mark and an overall record of 15-1.
La Grande girls soccer
The Tigers improved to 6-1 on the season, with all six victories being by shutout, by posting a 5-0 road win against Baker/Powder Valley in a Greater Oregon League opener. Sophomore midfielder/forward Rowan Evans tallied a hat trick for La Grande in the victory, while junior forward Paige Allen and sophomore midfielder/defender Addison Dunham added one goal apiece.
Lakeridge boys soccer
The Pacers posted a 2-1 nonleague win at Cleveland and then scored a 1-0 win over Ida B. Wells in a nonleague match played at Lakeridge High School to improve to 6-0 on the season. Lakeridge has outscored its six opponents by a total margin of 12-4.

The Pacers rallied from a 20-0 deficit to post a 31-20 win over Sunset in a nonleague game played at Lakeridge High School. Senior tight end Joey Olsen had two catches for 86 yards and two touchdowns for Lakeridge in the victory.
Marshfield volleyball
The Pirates swept all three of their matches at the Battle at the Bay tournament that they hosted. Marshfield topped North Eugene, Thurston and Cascade all by 3-0 scores at the event to improve to 15-2 for the season.
McLoughlin boys soccer
The Pioneers stayed unbeaten on the season, improving to 8-0-1 by posting a 6-2 win at Riverside in a key Class 3A/2A/1A Special District 6 match. McLoughlin moved to 4-0 in district matches, while Riverside fell to 2-1. Senior midfielder Almikar Garcia tallied three goals for the Pioneers in the victory.
North Douglas volleyball
The Warriors posted a 25-11, 25-15, 25-16 home victory over Elkton to stay perfect in Skyline League play at 6-0, while also improving to 10-2 on the season. North Douglas senior middle blocker/setter Brooke McHaffie had 15 kills in the match, giving her more than 500 for her career with the Warriors.
Oregon Episcopal School girls cross country
The Aardvarks ran to first place in the varsity division at The Mook XC Invite, held at Alderbrook Golf Course in Tillamook. Oregon Episcopal had a score of 32 points to take first place in the team standings. Glencoe was second with 90. OES junior Lauren Tittel was the individual winner of the race with her time of 18 minutes, 16.1 seconds for the 5,000-meter course. Senior teammate Morgan Matthews was second at 19:09.6.
Prairie City/Burnt River football
The Panthers, playing at the Class 1A 6-man level, moved to 4-0 on the season, and to 2-0 in Special District 1 play by scoring a 45-26 victory at Echo. Sophomore running back Maison Teel ran for 334 yards and five touchdowns on 24 carries in the victory. Senior linemen Cody Reagan and Trey Brown combined for 15 tackles and four sacks.
Roosevelt football
The Roughriders edged Franklin 40-27 in a Portland Interscholastic League showdown played at Roosevelt High School. Junior running back Dontrell Betts had 13 carries for 133 yards and four touchdowns in the win. Roosevelt moved to 2-0 in PIL play and to 3-1 on the season with the victory.
South Salem football
The Saxons picked up a key Class 6A Special District 1 victory, topping South Medford 45-21 in a game played at Spiegelberg Stadium in Medford. With the win, South Salem improved to 2-0 in district play and to 4-0 on the season. The Panthers moved to 1-1 and 3-1. Senior quarterback Athan Palmateer helped lead the Saxons to the win, passing for 264 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for 121 yards.
Sutherlin girls soccer
The Bulldogs handed St. Mary’s of Medford its first loss of the season, topping the Crusaders 5-0 in a Class 3A/2A/1A Special District 4 showdown played at Sutherlin. Senior Paige Edmonson scored three second-half goals for the Bulldogs and senior Kendra Parsons scored two goals for Sutherlin, which moved to 4-1 in district matches with the win.
Tigard girls soccer
The Tigers improved to 6-0 on the season by rolling to a 6-1 win at McNary in a nonleague contest. Tigard got assists from sophomore Olivia Jirles, sophomore Harlyn Tischhauser, senior Halley White, junior Kiera Grant and senior Ella Erickson in the victory.
