Nolan Keeney, Tualatin star quarterback, suffers fractured collarbone, out 'minimum of 6 weeks'
Tualatin Timberwolves starting quarterback Nolan Keeney suffered a fractured collarbone Friday night against Jesuit and is out a "minimum of six weeks," he told SBLive Sports.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound signal-caller transferred from Westview during the offseason and has been among the state's best passers through four weeks.
On Friday, Keeney was nearly unstoppable during Tualatin's first five drives, leading them to four scores with an eye-opening stat line - 10 of 13 for 138 yards with two touchdowns passing with an additional 126 rushing yards and two scores on eight carries.
However, he was injured just before halftime and did not return.
Two-way all-state-caliber playmaker A.J. Noland filled in for Keeney for the remainder of the contest and is likely to assume the role full-time during his absence.
Tualatin is 4-0 and is widely regarded as a serious state title contender.
