Oklahoma high school girls basketball Top 25 rankings (2/8/2024)

No serious movement in this week's list, as Top 16 teams remain intact

For the second straight week, there was no major movement at the top of the SBLive Oklahoma girls basketball rankings.

It was actually rather serene this week, as each of last week's Top 10 teams remain in the same position. And the Top 15 teams continued to take care of business.

The first movement this week actually occurred in the No. 17 position. Who takes over in that spot? Continue to read to find that out, along with the rest of this week's rankings.

1. El Reno (21-0); last week (1)

It was more of the same for the Lady Indians, who continue their season-long dominance atop Class 5A. They posted two more double-digit wins within the past week and have already wrapped up the outright District 5A-1 title. This Friday, they go to Guthrie.

2. Choctaw (20-0); last week (2)

The Lady Yellowjackets received some serious challenges recently, but they continue to survive to keep their perfect record intact. On Feb. 2, they were tested by a surging Bixby squad before holding off the Lady Spartans, 48-45. They had a relatively easier time of things last Tuesday, handing Muskogee a 52-30 defeat. Choctaw can wrap up the outright District 6A-4 title this Friday with a win at home against Ponca City.

3. Bethany (17-4); last week (3)

For the second time in several weeks, the Lady Bronchos were too much for fellow 4A contender Anadarko. This time, Bethany claimed a decisive 84-35 win on the Lady Warriors' home court on Feb. 2. The Lady Bronchos wrap up the regular season with two games at home, beginning Friday against Ardmore, before starting their bid to repeat as 4A state champions in the playoffs.

4. Putnam City West (19-1); last week (4)

The Lady Patriots are coming off scoring 85 points against Lawton and 69 more against Lawton Eisenhower while holding both opponents to a combined 35 points. This Friday, they're seeking revenge with a home game against Edmond Santa Fe, which handed PC West its only defeat, a 58-53 decision on Jan. 23.

5. Edmond North (18-1); last week (5)

Edmond North continues its dominance in District 6A-1, winning the outright title last Tuesday with a 63-35 win at home against Moore. Friday, the Lady Huskies head to Capitol Hill, which has yet to win a district contest.

6. Tahlequah (20-1); last week (6)

Tahlequah survived a pair of District 5A-3 contests, beating Tulsa Booker T. Washington by eight (62-54) and Collinsville by seven (49-42). The Lady Tigers go to Booker T. Washington on Feb. 13 in a game that will likely decide the district championship.

7. Idabel (20-1); last week (7)

The Lady Warriors keep on rolling, as they have now won 17 straight ballgames. They defeated Tulsa KIPP, 75-59, before posting a 62-38 win against Kingston. On Saturday, Idabel is at home to take on Pocola, a traditional power in 2A.

8. Lincoln Christian (18-3); last week (8)

Lincoln Christian bounced back from a tough one-point loss at Glenpool with wins against Metro Christian and Quinton. The Lady Bulldogs get another crack at Glenpool at home on Feb. 13.

9. Edmond Memorial (16-3); last week (9)

The Lady Bulldogs took care of business against U.S. Grant and Bartlesville within the past week. On Thursday, they are at home to face Sand Springs in a game that may determine the District 6A-3 championship.

10. Dale (22-1); last week (10)

In a matchup between highly ranked Class 2A foes, top-ranked Dale got a 52-42 win against No. 6 Vanoss on Feb. 2. The Lady Pirates face two more ranked 2A opponents to cap the regular season, at No. 17 Latta on Friday and at No. 8 Cashion on Monday.

11. Midwest City (17-3); last week (11)

The Lady Bombers fended off rival Del City, 47-44, on Feb. 2 and then survived Guymon, 39-31, on Feb. 6. This Friday, the District 5A-2 title is likely on the line as Midwest City is at home to face Lawton MacArthur.

12. Washington (18-3); last week (12)

Washington picked up double-digit wins against Pauls Valley (39-27) and Lindsay (49-31). The defending 3A runner-up caps the regular season with home games against 4A foes, Marlow on Friday and Purcell on Monday.

13. Midwest City Carl Albert (16-4); last week (13)

On Feb. 6, the Lady Titans got a measure of revenge with a 49-44 win against Shawnee, which won the earlier District 5A-1 matchup. Carl Albert attempts to stay within striking distance of second place in the district with games Thursday and Friday against Crossings Christian and Western Heights, respectively.

14. Glenpool (18-2); last week (14)

Glenpool scored at least 72 points in three decisive wins against Bishop McGuinness, Ardmore and Harrah. Friday, the Lady Warriors travel to Tulsa Hale and are back in Tulsa on Tuesday to face Lincoln Christian in a rematch of Glenpool's recent 50-49 win against the Lady Bulldogs.

15. Sapulpa (15-5); last week (15)

Sapulpa went a perfect 4-0 on a recent road swing, the latter two wins at Coweta (58-35) and Tulsa Memorial (56-30). The District 5A-4 leader now concludes the regular season with three straight games at home, starting this Friday against Tulsa Edison.

16. Riverside (21-2); last week (16)

The Lady Braves held off Community Christian, 56-33, before getting decisive wins against Madill and Frederick. They have two interesting home games coming up, Thursday against another red-hot team in Classen SAS and Saturday against tradition-rich Sequoyah-Tahlequah.

17. Seiling (19-3); last week (18)

This week's first movement comes courtesy of the defending Class A state champs, who now gear up for a run at a repeat beginning this weekend with the Class A district tournament. Seiling capped the regular season with wins against Cheyenne, Lomega and Hobart.

18. Sand Springs (15-5); last week (20)

The Lady Sandites are riding a five-game winning streak, highlighted by a 37-33 win against Tulsa Union, avenging a narrow loss to the Lady Redhawks earlier this season. On Thursday, first place in District 6A-3 is on the line as Sand Springs heads to face Edmond Memorial. The Lady Sandites will stay in the Oklahoma City metro on Friday with a game at U.S. Grant.

19. Mustang (15-6); last week (17)

Mustang fell at home last week to Edmond North, 48-27, but got a nice bounce-back win against another Edmond-based school, winning 60-31 against Deer Creek. The Lady Broncos seek to stay within striking distance of second place in District 6A-1 with a home game Friday against Moore.

20. Classen SAS (15-6); last week (23)

The Lady Comets have reeled off seven straight wins, the latest a 77-39 conquest of Star-Spencer. Thursday, they go to Riverside in a matchup between two surging squads.

21. Dover (23-2); last week (21)

Dover concluded the regular season earlier this week with a 46-43 loss to Canton. But the second season is upon the Lady Longhorns, as they get set to play in their Class B district tournament this weekend.

22. Inola (17-3); last week (24)

Another team called the Lady Longhorns, this bunch keeps on rolling with decisive wins against Salina and Kansas. They have three challenging games left in the regular season, taking on a pair of Top 10 3A squads in Roland on Thursday and Adair the next night. Then on Tuesday, they travel to Muldrow in a game between Top 20 4A teams.

23. Owasso (15-5); last week not ranked

The Lady Rams continue to hold their own in a challenging District 6A-3 race. On Feb. 2, they traveled to Tulsa Union and came away victorious, 41-36. Then on Feb. 6, they handled Putnam City, 67-40. Owasso goes to Bartlesville on Friday before returning home next week with games against Enid on Monday and U.S. Grant on Tuesday.

24. Fort Gibson (16-5); last week not ranked

Fort Gibson is coming off wins against Oologah and Hilldale. The Lady Tigers conclude the regular season with road tests, Friday at Ada and Tuesday at Verdigris.

25. Tulsa Rogers (14-7); last week not ranked

The Lady Ropers are one of the hottest teams in the state. They have won nine straight ballgames. Included in that streak were wins against defending 5A champion Sapulpa, defending 5A runner-up Holland Hall and McAlester, which Rogers beat in overtime, 69-62, on Feb. 6. The Lady Ropers head to Coweta on Friday and to Durant on Tuesday as they attempt to secure at least second place in District 5A-4.
