Edmond Santa Fe 2025 RB Demarius Robinson continues to have something to prove
MUSTANG, OKLAHOMA - In the first game of the 2023 season, Demarius “Man Man” Robinson sent out a message.
The 5-foot-9, 175-pound tailback from Edmond Santa Fe didn’t use social media, email or send out a letter to deliver the message.
Instead, Robinson used the old-fashioned way of letting his play speak for him in the Wolves' surprising 27-26 victory over Jenks. Robinson finished the epic night with 181 yards and three touchdowns.
Because of the Trojans' history and championship pedigree, Robinson figured it was a great time to show the rest of the state what he was capable of doing on the gridiron.
“Jenks is probably one the best teams in the state. I definitely proved that I could really be the best running back in the state,” Robinson said.

Since then, Robinson has been on a mission every week to make sure his name is mentioned whenever the best players in the state of Oklahoma are talked about.
“I got something to prove,” Robinson said. “I'm trying to be the best.”
Through five games, Robinson has seemingly done that as he has amassed 1,233 yards and 20 touchdowns on just 125 carries.
For those who hate to do math, Robinson is averaging 9.8 yards every time he touches the ball and 246 yards every game.
What makes the start to the season even more impressive is that the defenses know that Robinson is getting the ball. He has 67 more carries than quarterback Daniel Newton.
In fact, Robinson has more than the entire Wolves' team combined.
Against Mustang last week, he tallied 299 yards and three touchdowns on 35 carries. His season high was a 349-yard effort against city rival Edmond Memorial.
Running behind an offensive line that’s led by Oklahoma commit Josh Aisosa, Robinson has shown he can be patient and use his blocks or just run for daylight when he sees an opening.

“He's a freak. He's a big-time playmaker. His vision's unbelievable,” Santa Fe coach Kyle White said. “He has got great speed. When he gets in the open field most of the time, he's not going to get caught and he runs hard.
"He runs with a purpose. He falls forward and he is a great kid. He's hungry; he wants to be the best, and so he works and we're blessed to have him. I'm glad he's healthy.”
Last year when the Wolves went 1-9, Robinson played in only five games due to dealing with a sports hernia. Yet, he still managed to rack up 650 yards on 101 carries.
Those numbers were a far cry from Robinson’s freshman campaign when he burst onto the scene with 1,498 yards and 16 touchdowns.

However, Robinson said this year he has improved drastically in all areas from his previous seasons. He's also helped the Wolves turn things around from 1-9 to now 4-1.
“Just got better, got stronger in the weight room,” Robinson said. “Dedicated to the weight room and got better on my footwork and my speed.”
White sees the same dedication and improvement as well. He is expecting more of the same in the second half of the season.

“I expect him to just continue to get better,” White said. “Continue to mature as a player.
"Obviously, he had a great freshman year, really didn't have a year last year. Played in parts of six games and so (for Robinson) just continue to get better, continue to grow, continue to learn, continue to develop as a leader and as a player.”
Robinson’s greatest attribute may be his mindset. He remarked he is determined to be the best and doesn’t plan to let anything get in his way.
“That’s been my thinking since I came out of the womb,” Robinson said. “That's the mindset I had. So, just to be the best and if there is somebody out there better than me, I'm going to push to be better than that person that's better than me at the next level.”
Robinson has plans to play college football at the next level. As of now, he has an offer from the University of Tulsa while other programs have shown interest.
But he expects more to come if he continues to let his work on the field speak for himself.
For the school that he does decide to play for, Robinson says they will be getting more than a player.
“A hardworking player that's not going to give up,” Robinson said. “I'm a dog. If (Colorado coach) Deion Sanders put me on his team, I'm going to have a D on my chest.
"I'm going to have a D on my chest. I'm a dog.”
