Washington baseball player Mayson Thomas is the Oklahoma High School Athlete of the Week (May 8-14)

Mayson Thomas gave his team some breathing room, while clinching the opportunity to repeat as state baseball champions.
Thomas, a sophomore for Washington's baseball team, had a big hit which helped eventually give the Warriors back-to-back Class 3A titles.
Leading Cascia Hall, 7-5, in the top of the fifth inning of the Class 3A state championship game May 13, the nine-hole hitter in Thomas laced a ball to center field, scoring two runs.
He then stole second and scored on an RBI single, which was the Warriors' final run as they went on to prevail, 10-7.
For his efforts, Thomas was voted the SBLive Oklahoma Athlete of the Week covering May 8-14. He is also the final SBLive Oklahoma Athlete of the Week chosen for the 2022-23 school year.
