The Oklahoma regional and state tennis meets are right around the corner and leading into that postseason play, let's take a look at some of the best players across the state.

Brett Keeling, Sr., Jenks

Keeling won the state championship in 2022, only dropping a single set in his championship match. Keeling has yet to drop a high school match.

He has come back and played just as good in 2023, recently winning the Bixby Tournament.

Reid Rainwater, Sr., Edmond North

Rainwater finished as the runner-up to Keeling a year ago, and as a senior, will look to give Keeling and the rest of the 6A field all it wants for the 6A state championship. The senior will continue playing tennis at Metropolitan State University.

Luke Bishop, So., Edmond Memorial

Placing sixth individually in Class 6A as a freshman, he will be looking to improve upon that this year. He has started out strong and will be one of the top tennis players in the state moving forward.

Will Bolding, Jr./Owen May, So., Bartlesville

The duo of Bolding and May made a run to the second day of the state tournament last year, but ultimately fell short. The pair are looking to get back to the state tournament and make an impact as doubles partners.

At a recent tournament in Broken Arrow, the two finished second with some of the top competition in the state.

Owen Fellrath, So., Heritage Hall

Only a sophomore, Fellrath had a breakout freshman campaign and is out for more in 2023. Back in March, he gave Keeling all he wanted at a championship match in Jenks, but fell short and placed second.

TJ Shanahan, Fr., Bishop McGuinness

Shanahan is only a freshman, but at several youth camps and tournaments, he has shown that he is prepared to compete with the best of the best.

While he may not be ready to win the title this year, expect big things from Shanahan in the years to come.

Victoria Ricaurte-Cabas, Jr., Edmond North

As the reigning Class 6A state champion has graduated, Ricuarte-Cabas is poised to grab that championship this year. She has finished second the past two seasons and has come out strong this year, showing she has an opportunity to win a state title.

Jack Auschwitz, Sr., Bartlesville

Auschwitz is a senior at Bartlesville and is looking to make it back to the state tournament for a second consecutive year.

As the No. 1 singles player for the Bruins, he has led the team throughout the year and has an opportunity to do big things at the state tournament.

Hayley Hibbets, So., Enid

Hibbets is making a case to win the Class 6A girls singles title, especially after her recent performance at the West Regional in Mustang, winning the championship in straight sets (6-4, 6-4) against Edmond North's Victoria Ricaurte-Cabas.

It was the third time Hibbets played Ricaurte-Cabas this season, and Hibbets has won all three matchups. Last season, Hibbets finished third at the 6A state tournament.

Ava Goodell, Jr., Edmond Memorial

As a junior, Goodell will be one of several in line vying for the Class 6A crown on the girls side. Her hard work and competitiveness at tournaments over the summer has put her in a position to be in title contention.

Grant Hinkle, Sr., Broken Arrow

Hinkle recently signed to play collegiately at John Brown University after having a great summer for the Junior Boys 18 and Under Division of the U.S. Tennis Association.

He has since followed that up with a great spring performance that he hopes to cap off with a championship.

Trenton Kanchanakomtorn, Fr., Westmoore

Only a freshman, Kanchanakomtorn has been on a tear this year and is expected to be one of the best players in the state as he gets older.

Tokara Henderson, Fr., Heritage Hall

Henderson is only a freshman, but has already racked up more than enough honors, showing that she can contend at the highest level to win a state championship.

She and Jasmine Crain recently took home a first-place doubles trophy at a tournament in Claremore.

John Paul Dillon, Fr., Crossings Christian

Dillon recently won the singles title at the Guthrie Invitational and helped the Knights win the team event. He is looking to continue that success at the state tournament in a few weeks.

Lydia Hoose, So., Cascia Hall

As a sophomore, Hoose was part of a runner-up doubles team at the state tournament. She has continued that success this year and is looking for a tournament title.

Heading into regionals, she will be in a great spot to get a good seed heading into the state tournament.

Sofia Acuna, Jr., Classen SAS

Coming off of a year in which she won the singles title in Class 5A, the program is moving down in classification to Class 4A, where she finished runner-up as a freshman.

She has already won two tournaments this year and is committed to play at Oklahoma Christian University when she graduates.

Sindhya Atturu, Sr./Paige Ludlam, Sr., Edmond Deer Creek

The duo went 34-3 last year and finished as runner-up in doubles for the Class 6A crown last year. Atturo and Ludlam are back for more this year, though.

With a wide-open Class 6A field, the duo has already won a handful of tournaments, showing that they will be a force to be reckoned with this May.
