Ohio high school football top stars and best performances (11/06/2023)
There were several big-time high school football performances across the state of Ohio this past weekend as the playoffs entered the second round. Here are some of those performances.

Brodey Berg, Anderson
Berg opened the scoring in a 41-3 win over Kings with a 25-yard touchdown run and the senior running back finished with 101 yards and three touchdowns.
Brayton Feister, Archbishop Hoban
The freshman running back led the rushing game with two touchdowns on 60- and 38-yard runs as Hoban defeated Barberton 41-7.
DJ Gray, Wyoming
The senior linebacker led the Cowboys’ defense with a team-high 13 tackles and an interception in a 35-26 road win over Taft.
Ethan Grunkemeyer, Olentangy
The Penn State commit threw for three scores in a 38-14 playoff win over Miamisburg. His biggest play of the night came on a 49-yard touchdown pass to open the fourth quarter.
Diore Hubbard, Gahanna Lincoln
In a 48-42 win over Grove City, Hubbard totaled four scores - three on the ground and one receiving. The senior led the Lions’ rushing game with 193 yards and caught three passes for 56 yards.
D’shawntae Jones, Glenville
Scored two touchdowns in the first half to lead the Tarblooders to a 44-7 win over Napoleon.
Colton Kruse, Liberty Center
The senior running back dominated on offense, finishing with 195 yards and four scores as the Tigers rolled past Huron 41-7.
Jordan Marshall, Archbishop Moeller
The Michigan commit led the Crusaders' offense with 127 yards on 23 carries and a touchdown as Moeller defeated St. Xavier 10-7 on the road.
Tyler Morgan, Toledo Central Catholic
Led the Fighting Irish with four touchdowns, including a 97-yard kickoff return in the first quarter. Morgan also had a season-high 139 yards on 14 carries to help take down Defiance 41-26.
Peyton Neher, Hudson
With 3:47 left in the game, the signal-caller threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to give Hudson the lead and defeat Warren G. Harding 24-21. Neher finished 11-of-15 for 202 yards.
Zach Osborn, Anna
In a 52-28 victory over Williamsburg, Osborn scored four touchdowns, including three on the ground and another on a pick-six return.
Brock Sherman, Walsh Jesuit
In his first full game back healthy in over a month, the running back carried the ball 18 times for 176 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Austintown Fitch.
Greyson Siders, Dalton
The senior running back had 223 yards and scored four times - three rushing and one receiving - en route to a 35-10 victory over Lucas. Siders had touchdown runs of 50 and 49 yards as Dalton scored 35 unanswered points.
Devonte Taylor, Ursuline
With the Fighting Irish trailing midway through the final quarter, Taylor caught a 30-yard reception near the goal line to help set up the game-winning touchdown run. In the first quarter, Taylor had a 39-yard catch that set up Ursuline’s first touchdown. Central Catholic edged Canfield 16-13.
Ben Uhlenhake, Bishop Watterson
The freshman running back went scored three touchdowns on six carries to help Watterson to a 44-7 victory over Miami Trace.
Brandon White, St. Edward
The sophomore running back finished with 116 yards and four scores in the Eagles’ 35-0 shut out of GlenOak. Three of White’s touchdowns came on short runs in the first half.
