Ohio high school football playoffs 2023: Division III brackets, top seeds, best matchups for second round

The OHSAA football playoffs began last week with 448 teams vying for a state title throughout Ohio's seven divisions.

We are now down to 224 teams, with eight teams left in each region and 32 teams remaining in each division.

All second round games will be played on Friday, Nov. 3 (unless circumstances force a game to be moved to Saturday) at the home field of the higher seed with all games in later rounds at a neutral site to be determined by the OHSAA. The state semifinal pairings will be announced following the regional finals..

The seven OHSAA football State championship games will be played in Canton at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium from Nov. 30-Dec. 2.

Division III, Region 9

Top Seeds remaining: 1. Ursuline, 2. Geneva, 3. Aurora, 4. Kenston

Lowest seed remaining: No. 9 Canfield 

Most intriguing second round game: No. 4 Kenston vs. No. 5 Villa Angela-St. Joseph

Predicted region winner: Ursuline

Division III, Region 10

Top Seeds remaining: 1. Toledo Central Catholic, 2. Norton, 3. Columbian, 4. Mansfield Senior

Lowest seed remaining: No. 9 Defiance 

Most intriguing second round game: No. 2 Norton vs. No. 7 Buckeye 

Predicted region winner: Toledo Central Catholic

Division III, Region 11

Top Seeds remaining: 1. Bishop Watterson, 2. London, 3. Granville, 4. Jackson

Lowest seed remaining: No. 9 Miami Trace 

Most intriguing second round game: No. 3 Granville vs No. 6 Tri-Valley

Predicted region winner: Bishop Watterson

Division III, Region 12

Top Seeds remaining: 1. Badin, 2. Tippecanoe, 3. Trotwood-Madison, 4. Butler

Lowest seed remaining: No. 10 Chaminade Julienne

Most intriguing second round game: No. 4 Butler vs. No. 5 Wapakoneta 

Predicted region winner: Badin
