Ohio high school football roundup: Ursuline, Lakota West and GlenOak among winners (10/13/2023)
With just two weeks left in Ohio high school football's regular season, the only matchup between teams in the SBLive Ohio Power 25 takes place on Saturday, as No. 25 St. Edward hosts No. 12 Archbishop Moeller on Saturday.
That doesn't mean there weren't any intriguing games on Friday night, as Youngstown Ursuline, Sandusky Perkins and Lakota West were among the teams who picked up wins.
SBLive covered No. 13 Pickerington North's 21-17 win over New Albany with Aaron Blankenship on the coverage and St. Vincent-St. Mary against Villa-Angela St. Joseph, a game won by VASJ 48-14.

Here are recaps of five games of note around Ohio from Friday night:
No. 6 Ursuline 32, Chaney 16
Quarterback jack Ericson accounted for three touchdowns and Christian Lynch scored twice as Ursuline remained undefeated with a 32-16 win over Chaney.
The fighting Irish score four touchdowns in the second quarter as Ericson hit Devonte Taylor for a 35-yard touchdown pass and DC Ferrell for a 25-yard score sandwiched around a 3-yard touchdown run for Ericson. Lynch added a 35-yard run to make it 26-0 at the half.
Lynch then scored from five yards out in the third quarter to make it 32-0.
No. 9 Sandusky Perkins 31, Sandusky 14
Junior running back Isaac Bunts ran for 297 yards - the third-most in program history - and scored two second half touchdowns as the Pirates move to 8-0.
With the game tied 14-14 in the third quarter, Bunts scored from 45 yards out and then added an insurance touchdown from seven yards late in the game.
Quarterback Logan Lesch threw a pair of 10-yard touchdown passes in the first half, one to Brady Legando and the other to Weston Sturzinger.
No. 11 Lakota West 10, Mason 7
Brayden Brenner hit a 20-yard field goal with 1:46 left in the game to give Lakota West its seventh win in a row.
After a scoreless first half, Mason took a 7-0 lead on a 9-yard touchdown pass fro, Quinn Brown to Vaughn Johnson a little more than midway through the third quarter.
But the Firebirds tied the game in the fourth quarter on a 5-yard touchdown pass from Sam Wiles to Luka Gilbert and then Brenner won it in the final minutes.
The Lakota West defense held the Comets to just 151 yards of total offense.
No. 19 Walsh Jesuit 62, Mentor Lake Catholic 38
Quarterback Keller Moten accounted for five touchdowns and wide receiver/safety John Keough and running back Lucas Weaver each scored twice as the Warriors picked up a road win on Friday night.
After trailing 31-27 in the third quarter, Walsh scored 35 of the game's final 42 points.
Moten was 9-of-15 for 284 yards passing and three touchdowns while he also ran for two scores. Keough caught four passes for 148 yards and a touchdown, scored on a fumble recovery and also had two big kickoff returns of 77 and 69 yards.
For Lake Catholic, running back Josh Styles had 158 yards rushing and a pir of scores on 25 carries and wide receiver Ace Peterlin had seven catches for 73 yards and two touchdowns.
The two teams combined for over 1,000 yards of total offense in the game and scored a combined 49 points in the third quarter alone.
GlenOak 7, Canton McKinley 3
GlenOak scored the game's only touchdown with 1:25 left in the fourth quarter to shock Canton McKinley, who came into the game 7-1.
With McKinley leading 3-0 late in the game, GlenOak quarterback Adrion Burt rolled out to his right and found Austin Morrison for a 3-yard touchdown to give the Golden Eagles the lead.
The ensuing kickoff was a pooch kick that McKinley was unable to recover and GlenOak got the ball.
The only score for McKinley came on a 23-yard field goal by 8:08 left in the second quarter.
