Ohio’s top high school football players for 2023: Meet the wide receivers

Who are the top high school wide receivers in Ohio in 2023?

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be taking a position-by-position look at some of the top players in Ohio high school football.

We began by looking at the state's top quarterbacks, running backs, offensive linemen, linebackerscornerbacks and safeties. Now we will take a look at the top wide receivers.

Zach Baglia, Green, senior

Baglia is a 6-foot-2, 175-pound senior who earned second-team all-state honors a year ago when he finished with 105 receptions for 1,430 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Daryl Barnett, Toledo Scott, senior

This 6-1, 185-pounder was first-team all-state in Division III as the Bulldogs finished 8-3.

Preston Bowman, Pickerington North, junior

With a list of nine scholarship offers that includes Kentucky and several Mid-American Conference programs, Bowman is one of central Ohio’s top receivers. The 6-0, 190-pound Bowman finished with 52 receptions for 654 yards and four touchdowns last season.

Javier Etheridge, Mount Healthy, senior

Etheridge is a 5-10, 165-pounder who is committed to play for Indiana. A year ago, Etheridge finished with 41 catches for 678 yards and seven touchdowns, returned one kickoff for a score and defensively added 50 tackles, two tackles for loss and four pass breakups.

D.C. Ferrell,  Ursuline, junior 

Ferrell was a first-team all-state honoree in Division III last season after finishing with 52 receptions for 779 yards and six touchdowns and 591 yards rushing on 66 attempts. He also threw for one touchdown and had three interceptions while playing defense.
Donte Ferrell, Cincinnati Woodward, senior

A Colorado State commit, Ferrell is a three-star recruit who stands 6-2, 175. Ferrell finished with 92 receptions for 1,744 yards and 12 touchdowns and returned one kickoff for a score.

Tra’Mar Harris, Winton Woods, senior

This 6-2, 180-pounder is considered a three-star recruit and is committed to Purdue. Harris finished with 53 receptions for 806 yards and 11 touchdowns as the Warriors went 12-1.

Rahmir Hawkins, Alliance, senior

Hawkins, a 5-6, 145-pounder, was a third-team all-state honoree in Division III a year ago when he finished with 62 receptions for 942 yards and eight touchdowns.

Chris Henry Jr., Withrow, sophomore

At the end of July, Henry Jr. became Ohio State's first commit in the 2026 class. A 6-5, 185-pounder, Henry is now playing for Withrow after finishing with 29 catches for 292 yards and five touchdowns and grabbing one interception on defense while playing for West Clermont as a freshman.

Austin Koslow, Delaware Hayes, senior

The 5-9, 150-pound Koslow was second-team all-state in Division I last season when he finished with 48 receptions for a program-record 1,092 yards with 11 touchdowns. Koslow helped the Pacers finish 7-4 for their first winning season since 2018.

Kyle Maltarich, West Holmes, senior

A Yale commit, Maltarich is a 6-2, 170-pounder who was first-team all-state in Division IV last fall when he finished with 65 catches for 1,345 yards and 21 touchdowns. His yards and touchdown totals were single-season program records.

Kyan Mason, St. Edward, senior

Mason is a 5-10, 165-pounder and three-star recruit who is committed to Akron. Last season, Mason had six catches for 73 yards and one touchdown in the state championship game as the Eagles beat Springfield 28-14. He scored 14 touchdowns and finished with 49 receptions for 719 yards.

Brennan Remy, Lakota West, senior

Remy, who is 6-0, 170, earned honorable mention all-state honors last season while totaling 46 receptions for 665 yards with 10 touchdowns as the Firebirds finished 13-1.

Ashton Sensibaugh, Dresden Tri-Valley, senior

Sensibaugh is a 6-0, 180-pounder who finished with 43 catches for 1,047 yards and 15 touchdowns while earning second-team all-state honors in Division III as the Scotties went 9-3.

Quintin Simmons Jr., Withrow, junior

Considered a four-star recruit, Simmons Jr. has a list of 16 scholarship offers that includes Cincinnati, Indiana, Kentucky and Michigan. Simmons finished with 40 catches for 556 yards and five touchdowns and added two rushing scores.

Trevor Vogt, Colonel Crawford, senior

A first-team all-state honoree in Division VI, Vogt is coming off a season in which he had 34 receptions for 768 yards and 12 touchdowns and finished with 1,518 all-purpose yards. Vogt is a 6-1, 175-pounder who helped the Eagles go 10-3.

Jeremiah Watkins, Gahanna Lincoln, senior

Watkins has a list of 18 scholarship offers that includes several MAC programs. A 6-1, 175-pounder who previously played for KIPP Columbus, Watkins is considered a three-star recruit and will look to make an impact in the big-school division after moving to Gahanna.

Dorian Williams, Princeton, senior

Listed at 6-2, 200, Williams is a three-star prospect who has committed to Vanderbilt. He contributed 22 receptions for 374 yards and three touchdowns last season as the Vikings went 9-3.

C.J. Wilson, Bellefontaine, senior

Wilson, who is 6-2, 170, earned third-team all-state honors a year ago while finishing with 68 receptions for 948 yards and nine touchdowns as the Chieftains went 8-3.

Jack Wojciak, Medina, senior

While helping the Bees go 11-2 a year ago, the 6-0, 180-pound Wojciak earned second-team all-state honors in Division I. He’s coming off a season in which he finished with 85 catches for 1,350 yards and 15 touchdowns and added 251 yards and two touchdowns rushing.
